John Bacon Posted December 3, 2016 Report Posted December 3, 2016 I am not sure if this will be good or bad for the fishery.http://www.durhamregion.com/news-story/6995763-lake-dredging-project-gets-conditional-approval-from-scugog/
dave524 Posted December 3, 2016 Report Posted December 3, 2016 They are only delaying the inevitable , Scugog is in the final stages of lake succession .
msp Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Sounds good to me. I think that Scugog needs all the help it can get. The creation of wetlands to filter storm water before it enters the lake can only be a good thing. Although a very small project ( footprint wise ), every bit will help. Im sure Ducks Unlimited will be all over it.
OhioFisherman Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Scugog Not a very deep lake for up north? Some dredging may help?
quickme Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 for the area that they are going to Dredge I think its a excellent idea. that section of the lake is very shallow and during the summer months its just a pile of sloppy algae. Deepening certain parts of the lake would be great and hopefully lessen the lake of some of the choking algae during June-July.
jimmer Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 It's good for the people that will use that area.
John Bacon Posted December 14, 2016 Author Report Posted December 14, 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Scugog Not a very deep lake for up north? Some dredging may help? Yeah, it's pretty shallow. But, it's actually down south for many of the members hear. I guess it's all relative.
OhioFisherman Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 Yeah, it's pretty shallow. But, it's actually down south for many of the members hear. I guess it's all relative. LOL, true John, your province dwarfs most of our states, something I keep forgetting.
