A friend of mine wants to take a winter drive from mississauga to simcoe or further north. Just a day trip. Any ideas for a scenic drive? We dont plan to get out and do anything. Just simply drive and explore the area.

thanks!

Get a bit further North into shield country, go along 169 or maybe 118 in Muskoka.

I agree drive up to the 118 via HWY 11 then cut across the 118 east to the 35 then back south toward Lindsay then take the 35 to the 115 back to the 401 and home

Any back country road away from the traffic makes for a great drive, winter or summer.

Wife and I do it all the time, sometimes driving 300 miles round trip through the boonies in a day just for lunch. Sometimes were gone so long we have to stop for supper too.

The best trips are the ones without a destination.

Pick some quiet roads, take a camera & enjoy.

Any rural route with a mix of woods is great

I'd say run Hwy 12 to Rama rd, hand a right on Reg #45/ old 503, takes you to Norland on #35. Follow that back south to the #115, then the 401. Good 4+ hr road trip.

Beautiful rte. Having family up in Minden I've gotten quite creative in finding back routes that avoid all the traffic there and back.
