steverowbotham Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Well, after that dumping of snow, I still decided to head out on the lake and make my longest walk of the season thus far. Stupid. On several occasions, I debated leaving my stuff on the ice and calling for a helicopter rescue. What an exhausting trek through the snow drifts to our location. Luckily, it didnt disappoint and we left by 130 with over 20 fish iced. What a fun day out! The walk back was dreaded all day, but didnt seem as bad after icing so many fish over the course of 4 hours. Had some fish eat a lipless crank, but couldnt keep them pinned. The fish we landed all came on X-Zone Swammers in both 3 and 4 inch sizes. No real big fish today, but some healthy fish to keep us entertained!
ecmilley Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 kudo's for the walk, and some nice fish
BillM Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Nice Steve! I thought anyone walking out on Sat was insane, lol!
kemper Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 I thought about hiking out, then I remembered the snow and decided not to. Good on ya, looks like I missed out!
Oggie Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 We walked out Sunday and it was challenging! I don't know why but I assumed you had a sled or an ATV. I have new found respect for your success! Your one of us WALKERS! Dan O.
woodro Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Walking was definitely tough Saturday and Sunday. A pair of snowshoes made it a bit easier for me. Unfortunately the juice wasnt worth the squeeze. Had a bunch of followers but no takers. Congrats on the successful day! What colour swammers were they hitting? Edited February 11, 2013 by woodro
asdve23rveavwa Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Nicely done, Steve. I would have passed out after about 100 yards
Moosebunk Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Fine lakers for your big effort Steve.
captpierre Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Healthy looking Lakers. Must be lots of bait. Yet the Whities are AWOL for the most part. What gives?
