Dondorfish Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 (edited) Did this to my favourite prop one night last year on Chemong Lake. What I need to know if its repairable and if so - is it worth doing? If not, I want to get a new one the same size as it gives me about 5 mph more then the one I have on the boat now. Here are the pictures: If its repairable - can someone recommend someone to do it Thanks Don Edited April 23, 2007 by Tracker

Sinker Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Don, there a place called the "Prop Drop" on hwy 35 just south of the 35/7 intersection. That's where I take all mine. Good guy, good service. he doesn't do the work there, but ships them out to Kawartha props........I've always had good service with them. Sinker
Sinker Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 It cost me $60 for a prop off a 40 hp, re built, and balanced. He has one of mine right now. Sinker
Dondorfish Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks guys! Steve - I'll try to get it into you in Dunnville to have a look at it. How long does it take to get fixed? ( approx. )
walleyejigger Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 a local shop here in sudbury last year was doing it for 25 bucks per blade, balanced and painted, and if you leave a deposit he'll give u a loaner, but it would cost u more in gas to get here
Dutch Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Water is down 6"-8" on Chemong compareed to "normal" levels. Too bad you found out the hard way. Hope it's a cheap, quick fix.
misfish Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 If I may and nothing against the rebuilders, whats a new one worth? True and blue to run true, out of the box, also, ever thought of going SS? Man thats nasty.
