ccmtcanada Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I've heard of them before, but have never seen then in action. Amazing they can travel that far out of water to escape predators!! Enjoy the video! <embed src="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/player.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" flashvars="id1=82014654" wmode="opaque" width="567" height="345" allowfullscreen="true" />
crappieperchhunter Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 Thx for posting that. I enjoy all nature shows. And I think they fellow is the best narrator hands down.
LucG Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 A whole new meaning to catching a fish on the fly
Spiel Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I saw lots of them off of Margarita Island (Venezuela) when I fished there many years ago. Pretty cool adaptation for a fish!
ChrisK Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I ordered Atlantic Char at a local restaurant recently and they placed a small bowl beside the Char full of ,you guessed it,flying fish eggs. I asked the waiter if he wanted me to tie up a bunch of roe bags with it I ended up eating all the eggs with my Atlantic Char. Was quite tasty....

Dozer Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 He talks so slowly you can fast forward the show and still understand what he's saying

Spread a layer of cooked short grain rice (seasoned with vinegar and sugar) on a sheet of seaweed (nori) and roll. Cut the roll into bite size chunks and spread about 1/2 teaspoon of eggs on top of the cut side of the sushi piece. My kids love to eat these. Also, I would feed my guppies and neon tetras with any of the eggs left on the plates that are not licked away.
