mikeseb Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 the ponds near durham are great theres quite a few of them with plenty of browns and bow's and the odd bass. fish 4 trout is great to especially for fly fishing. the fish are a little on the boney side tho lol
Roy Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 I don't know if you're talking about the same kinds of places but the stocked ponds that I know are the ones I used to take the kids to once or twice a year. Some were pay per pound ponds others were pay per fish. Kinda like going to the fish store with a fishing rod. You'd throw a kernel of corn or a blueberry, ANYTHING in there and you'd have 100 trout boiling up to the surface. Fun for a few fish for the kids but not my idea of fishing at all. They don't have to abide by Provincial fishing regulations at all. They only had one rule. If you catch a fish, you just bought it.

ketchenany Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 What ever tickles you fancy here. Highway 89 west of Airport Road. http://www.primrosetroutfarm.com/
northernpike56 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 What ever tickles you fancy here. Highway 89 west of Airport Road. http://www.primrosetroutfarm.com/ Thanks! They seem like another good option!
Rattletrap2 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks! They seem like another good option! I'll second the recommendation for Primrose! He is actually just west of Highway 10 and South of 89. It is located on the Blind Line. I bought some fish from him this year to stock our pond. He has Browns, Rainbows, and Brook trout. Beautiful ponds to fish!
northernpike56 Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 I think I might go with primrose over fish 4 trout as their prices seem a bit 'insane'.
rwilmer Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Had our first customer of the 2013 season at Wilmer Pond in Durham, Ontario. Came out with 2 rainbow totalling 3lbs 3oz. The ice has just been off of the ponds for one week, so the fish wintered very well.
jeffw Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 I used to flyfish at international trout ponds but looks like they might have gone out of business. I've tried calling them but the number is out of service and they haven't replied to my email. Cheers jeff
