  2. Thanks for the replies I have tied some stone fly patterns and tried the lindy watwits but for whatever reason the specks, bows and perch annihilate the northland stoneflies. I will have to try the Redwing nymphs
  3. I'm getting low on my supply of the stone flies and was wondering if anyone has seen them in the gta. I've checked cabelas, sail vaughan and basspro with no luck. Cheers jeff
  4. I've always wondered why they don't focus more on stocking specks they are also native fish but don't seem to get much attention. Everyone seems to forget that browns and bows are not native. Cheers jeff

  7. I would try weedlines but the base of drops especially if they go from rock to sand are golden. I vertically jig small jigging raps and tungsten jigs with northland stoneflies on sturgeon lake for jumbos that way. Cheers jeff

  9. Yes in the deeper hole. All i have got from that spot is wormy perch and 1 nice largemouth. Hoping i can grt up there on thurs.

  11. I have a 36" med hvy jason mitchell makinaw rod. Its a baitcaster withe the spiral guides and its hands down the best big laker and whitefish rod i have ever used. Everyone of my friends that have tried it have gone out and bought one. Cheers jeff
  12. I have used berkley big game when saltwater fishing. It has excellent abrasion resistance and good shock tippet.
  13. Those look like bloodworms to me. I've caught bot splake and bows that have had them.

  15. I love my last years model but the older model energy reel is still smoother and in my opinion has a better drag. Cheers jeff
  16. Hard and soft jerkbaits have caught me the majority of my saltwater fish. If you can get some uncooked shrimp then you will have a blast with jacks and other small reef fish. Don't forget clean your reels after each use. Cheers Jeff

  21. Jerkbaits hard and soft will catch you lots of cuda. I have had good luck with xraps and zoom flukes. Cheers jeff

  23. Close to toronto. I didn't want to go out past the 2ft depth because the ice out there was recent.
