spincast Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Yikes. Amazing power the wind has. Thanks for the pics. Shame about the church - always thought that was a very striking building. Town will never look the same - lots of those buildings will have to be demolished.
splashhopper Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 my favorite burger joint was hit More pics here >> http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2011/08/21/18582706.html
bigbuck Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 That was a pretty little downtown area. Too bad, most of the old buildings will have to come down now. The power of Mother Nature is just simply astounding.
splashhopper Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 My fishing buddy, with the blue taurus in the pics, was right in the thick of it. Said the noise was horrific and the flying debris was brutal. He sustained minor cuts and bruised from debris. The drivers side of his ( lake side) is destroyed is grateful to be alive.
uglyfish Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 My uncles house was destroyed, and my grandparents house also suffered damage. My parents are heading up wednesday to survey the damage and start cleaning up.
ckrb2007 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Great pics of such destruction. Mother nature can be nasty sometimes!
tb4me Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Wow is all i can say...I was in campbellford when that storm hit...Nasty thunder and lightning..Sure am glad we missed out on that tornado....

lew Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 (edited) I'm having trouble seeing both those videos as they keep stopping & starting on me, but from what I can see, the destruction is terrible. Really sad to see what Mother Nature can do to innocent folks sometimes. Edited August 28, 2011 by lew
Twocoda Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 locals are wearing T shirts that say..."FUF3" Its good to see the spirits of Godrock hasnt been broken
NAW Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 locals are wearing T shirts that say..."FUF3" Figured something like that would happen. They're a bunch of tough folks there in Goderich.
Musky or Specks Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 My cousin just sent me a pic of his house. My aunt's and uncles place was missed and same with another cousin although he's part of Mine Rescue so he had to deal with some of the real bad crap. He lives pretty close to the square so he counts himself lucky
