THESE ARE THE RULES :::::::::

if you own a hut

1-do NOT LEAVE ANYTHING in it that is not screwed in.....

2-do NOT LOCK the door.......

two very simple rules.......

if you leave garbage in it they will throw it down your holes.

if you lock it they will rip the door off or smash it in....

small fisher,

i was told that before i had my hut..

and yes i have had them break into my hut, even though the door was not locked

they took 3 broken lures--thats right BROKEN non repairable,

thats why i left them there--LOL----

and 1 night when my son and I were sleeping in the hut they tried to break in,

by the time i jumped out of bed and opened the door ( to greet them )

he was on his atv and running as fast as he could....

I'd burn my hut to the ground if it was ever violated like that. You don't know many stories of people doing that out on Haviland Bay do you?

We're using a portable hut for a change this year but for the last 3 years we had a season hut out on Nipissing. Nobody ever touched it.

In the North Bay Nugget today...

Thieves broke into an ice shack on Lake Nipissing near Burritt Island sometime last week.

They stole a 50,000 BTU propane heater, a 20-pound propane tank, a green propane lantern with single long-burning tube propane heater and a red two-burner Fold and Go camp stove.

The value of the items is estimated at $500.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

That's only a few miles from where I fish. Would be nice if they could catch the b*stards cause if they don't they'll do it again.
