  1. Bar W hunt club...st joes
  2. I just may break out the fly rod this weekend...cept I gotta open the hunt camp for my son to celebrate his 20th with 20 friends I guess just the power plant in the boat for a couple hours
  3. Not a lot of walleye in 220' of water
  4. Are you using a fly rod with fuzz balls or float rod and roe bags?
  5. perfect sense, TY and congrats and thanks for posting again...now go get a buck
  6. I been wondering what I will do with mine. Just realized we have an almost empty storage building at work. I'm going to park it in there and can get it in and out as late in the year as I want. Gotta take most of the stuff out of it just in case, but the boat and motor will be safe enough. Gotta get it out of the driveway so I can lay in the firewood and snowmobile trailer
  7. Nice deal, but why did you bring it home with the guts still in it?
  8. Nice job on the jigs. Best way around that pesky copyright stuff is to maybe PAY FOR IT
  9. Yep, right, the money is all going to silly stuff like welfare, and education, and health care. There is only so much to go around. We need to elect people that spend money on what we want...and don't raise taxes (HST hint hint) to do it. Speaking of which, I wonder what they are going to spend that windfall on.
  10. I can't see much future in fishing and hunting. Not enough tax dollars are spent on it and too many decisions are financially motivated rather than for protecting the resource. Biologists having nothing to do with the financial end.
  11. I don't see a lot of ragging on biologists in here. I do see a fair bit of ragging on the likes of which cancelled the spring bear hunt. I think somebody is having a touchy moment
  12. Thaw them in a tub of cold water. They will stay firmer that way, and thaw faster.
  13. Well, you had a nice day in the bush. I wouldn't be upset over the carcasses. To me they are just heads and hides. The hunters skinned the moose right there rather than taking the junk to town. Other than having it properly tagged without the head, I can't see a problem. If they were native hunters they wouldn't need the tag part.
  14. We see them all the time up near Elloitt Lake. Uranium mining capital of Canada. Nice fosh, C&R again and again
  15. I think it has something to do with the protectionist measures.
  16. Goulais and Haviland bays in the spring if you go out on the good days are fine for a 14' tinner. I used to do it all the time. Thats where the salmon are in the spring. Summer, I don't think you will find them in the lake.
  17. I'm trying this one tomorrow
  18. makin it 6 in a row
  19. To me a one man ice hut is a good snowmobile suit. Generally our fishing is back lakes and you fish close enough to shore to light a fire. If you fish the bigger water you are close enough to have a real shack and go every weekend. I know its off topic but i had to write something as I already have the last 4 posts and wanted to make it 6 in a row
  20. I wasn't born then, but 2 years later I was living right between Lew and Beans. I remember the storm that put the Fitz down though.
  21. I would suggest looking around for a fly fishing course. I took one a few years ago. It was offered as a continuing education course(night school) at our local comunity college. Best $80.00 I ever spent. Rod weights and sizes, lines, leaders. Included full explanation by a very knowlwdgeable instructor. There were even field trips on Saturdays. I hooked a nice bow in the StMarys rapids.
  22. I think I had better give my card back
  23. Yep, tons, the area is populated like crazy
