Awesome reel! Bought one from BPS sale few weeks ago. Here is a review from TackleTour http://www.tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerpatriarchspin.html The review only complains that its saltwater unfriendly and low maximum drag. Not applicable in Ontario and finesse fishing is what light spinning reels are meant for, so I don't really care about a low maximum drag.

Tips: Don't snag, don't lose your float, and most importantly don't catch any giant fish before GBW and I do.

My dad uses the Curado 101D, you might not get the natural drift from a centerpin reel, but it can be done.

Starting Jan this year, I have really started to fine tune my crappie fishing through ice. If I can only share one tip to everyone, it would be downsize everything! 2LB test, UL rod, sensitive spring bobber indicator and very small jig hooks. Fished family day weekend, a huge muskie came interrupt my pan fish action. Caught the beast on my video camera, the fish looked HUGE down the hole, especially when I was fishing 6' FOW.
