the "poop chute" in Hamilton Harbour.

just received three tickets to this Sunday's game against Ottawa. I'm still looking forward to it....once a Leafs fan, always a Leafs fan. And bonus - no suit!!! Jersey it is

wow. Steve Herbeck guided Jim Saric to a huge muskie on a Muskie Hunter episode a few years back.

oh, bucke lake was the best fishing lake in the park proper. caught my first big smallie on that lake!
-
wow. well. blast from the past I guess. I camped on Pakeshkag lake with the old man and my brother for three years in a row in the early 90's. I don't remember seeing a walleye around....but lots and lots of pike...with a few bass...and we fished hard for the week we were up there...the three years we went. I remember the one year I brought up a bunch of riverside 3" white grubs (the rage for walleye in 1992, lol). .... I proceeded to lose every one to pike, getting bit off...so many pike.

The south shore has a number of locations that would be good... really, as I understand they are looking at the west end / south shore, Bronte, Hamilton, Jordan, Dalhousie, and Niagara River - five great spots. I love fishing browns. increased localized stocking should make for an improved fishery.
-
turning this thread in a different direction, what do folks think about reducing the number of brown stocking sites in order to make "super sites"?

no, i don't know much about rivers.... seeing guys flossing fish, standing shoulder to shoulder, breaking rules with respect to private property, snagging fish, raping fish for spawn, using said spawn to rape further fish, oh, and don't forget, fighting powerful fish in 2' of water in pools 15' in length..... ya, i saw what the rivers had to offer....and decided to be a clueless lake fisherman.
-
smashing my boat and motor through the ice on the Niagara was fun......for a bit. definitely better in January when the river is void of ice.
-
river fisherman are special. edit. (don't want to see this thread closed)

Need help from some of the Musky guys on here

you can use a spinning rod and reel for muskie...just has to be the right one, lol. and a 52" muskie from Scugog is HUGE. I took a guide on Scugog many years back. The guide, who only guided Scugog, and also worked on a Scugog tagging project, advised they had never seen a true 50" muskie on Scugog. So to catch a 52" one (and many high 40's) means your likely the greatest angler who has ever fished Scugog, lol. -
great post! agreed 100%

not sure if Roy sells the ones he posted a little while back....but that might be another option...they were sweet!

is the current more or less than the lower niagara? what about a simple three way rig, dropper weight on the bottom, then whatever on the top. 3" grub, flat fish or other plug, minnow, whatever. that's what most use in the lower niagara, i'm sure it would work there?

Trudeau says he will legalize cannabis if elected this fall.

This thread has made me happy. I recall a similar thread on this board...going waaaaay back...2002 I believe. I was younger, and more vocal ... we had quite a discussion...the "overall" opinion was quite different back then... It's great to see how the legalization movement has progressed over the last 10 to 15 years. You may have noticed in the recent health care thread the discussion around seizure disorders. Cannabis is one of the best treatments for seizures. -

Under ole Jean, there was a time when it was decriminalized (under 30 grams I believe). -
Beer and wine sales in Ontario NF well kinda!

i enjoy beer, wine, and scotch. i agree, beer often does pair with food easier than wine does. for me, a nice stout beer before dinner, than a glass of full bodied cab with my meal, followed by a dram of aged single malt to wash it all down is heaven in my mind. -
on paudash lake there is a "dock" with a motor, a wetbar, slide, bbq, and just about every other "mancave" idea you can imagine... oh, of course small genny and a stereo.
-
that is great to hear. finding a successful seizure treatment can be difficult as no two seizure disorders are the same. seizures are extremely scary events to go through. i hope she can continue to live a happy, normal life
-
that's the thing with seizures. there aren't easy answers. when you went to the states, did they find a cure? after all, there is no "cure" for seizures, just treatments.
