  1. What light was coming on?
  2. I wish everyone undercoated their cars Brian. Makes it a little messier to work on, but the parts come apart easier. I hate getting out the hot wrench to take stuff off.
  3. Ya, it's a lot easier if the car has never been driven in Ontario salted roads. Lots of rusty nuts and bolts. And if you are a car mechanic like me, try doing this in the middle of winter with a 6" coating of ice and snow in there. And then the customer is peeved with the labour time involved. Ugghh.
  4. Thanks for the plug Will The bad ground fix is still OK? Sinker, it's possible the shift linkage may be out of adjustment or your clutch dog is worn out allowing the reverse slip. The guys at the shop didn't do a thorough test, probably just did a dry shift with no load.
  5. Drifter is absolultely correct on the too high RPM's. But he would gain top end speed going bigger pitch and lose some holeshot. But it would also increase the trolling speed too. I'd highly recommend going SS though. A good propeller can really improve performance.
  6. Lower the engine down on the trim notches as the fellas have said. A smaller propeller pitch will also help.
  7. I am an Echo fan. Have several Echo items and always been good to me. As with anything, don't let the fuel go stale in the carb and tank.
  8. Thank you for adding the clarifications Roy
  9. Spent every summer on Nipissings South Bay area. While it may not be quite as pretty as the French River, it is almost like home. No place I'd rather be.
  10. Heard this on the radio yesterday. BULLETIN Ministry of Natural Resources NEWS May 12, 2014 Ministry of Natural Resources Implements Changes to the Lake Nipissing Recreational Fishery Following a 30-day public consultation period on the draft Lake Nipissing Fisheries Management Plan, the Ministry of Natural Resources is implementing two recreational angling regulation changes to support the recovery of the walleye population in Lake Nipissing. This step is being taken to ensure Lake Nipissing’s fisheries remain healthy and sustainable for future generations. The regulation changes include:  Introducing a minimum size limit in which only fish 46 centimetres (18.1 inches) in length and over may be kept, effective May 17, 2014, with the opening of the walleye season.  Opening bass season one week earlier on June 21, 2014. For more information about the changes, please visit Ontario.ca/fishing, call 705-475-5530 or email [email protected]. 11. Consider getting it aligned if you have not already. A good alignment saves tires. As far as leaks are concerned, clean the bead on the rim to get all the corrosion off. I then paint the bead surface on the rim, then install the tire before the paint gets too hard. Keeps corrosion from reoccurring and seals the bead better. Bead sealer works, but not as well as the paint over time. Randy, those Sailuns seem to work OK on my pickup, actually very impressed for the price. Time will tell for wearout, but the ratings are OK.
  12. A thermometer, inside or out. A dinner bell. Marshmellow roasting forks. An old coal oil lantern. A door knocker
  13. Happy 50th Will ! All the best to you my friend
  14. I only do Johnson and Evinrudes. This one I run.
  15. Nothing there for me. Too new
  16. Hunters Bay on Nipissing opened up today. The main lake looks like it will take at least another week.
  17. All I can say is ...WOW !
  18. I'd hate to impose on anyone for delivery. But is it isn't too much of a problem for you fellas, that would be great Pete, I don't need the steering stuff. But all the electrical with the face plate for start/stop would be great. I'll PM you for payment. Thank you!
  19. I'd like to have the motor and controls. But the boat would take more work than it's value. The engine is a 1955.
  20. Thats a lot of fun Wayne. Did that a couple weekends ago. Was out on Nipissing this morning for a ride. Fish Bay is clear and Hunters Bay will open up in a day or two.
  21. Sick and tired of shingles. They don't last and getting rid of the old ones is a pain in the behind. Going steel at my cottage this summer.
  22. With all the paid promoting they do on fishing shows I don't believe a word of it.
  23. The less of the skeg in the water, the better. Less friction. As long as it doesn't blow out on turns or cavitate too easy, it's all good. Shouldn't run slower. I'd be looking at propellers and RPM's and see if it's correct for the boat.
  24. After years of using Fireline using a rod with mono is like fishing with a rubber band. No line memory and long casting ability is also a key factor.
