  1. Thank you Crosshairs for speaking up. For those of us up here that know some of the good folks in the native community we know that this has been going on for a while now. It's great that it has been posted for others to hear and read.
  2. I like glass for a lot of reasons as well. Find they also handle better on the water. Easier docking due to the heavier stability too, don't blow around so much in a wind. Yes, watch out for those salt water boats. The engines/lower units are almost impossible to take apart after the salt corrodes internals.
  3. If the right side works OK all the time it's most likely a ground issue in the left tail light housing itself. These housings are really cheaply made and most wires are held in place with a pressure clip only. Also where the tail light is bolted on will also develop corrosion and that is usually where the housing is grounded.
  4. A third net was found in the same area. Sure like to see if they can find out who is setting them. http://www.nugget.ca/2014/06/23/third-ghost-net-found-in-lake-nipissing
  5. It was a great job, about 30 years ago. Wages were good in many companies, I even had benefits. But log books became imperative and hours were cut short. Seemed like more paperwork than actually getting the job done. Held an ABMZ for a long time but it also became a pain with getting medicals, rewriting tests and of course the money it took to keep it. I wouldn't even consider it now. It was fun while it lasted.
  6. O damn, it was the Edge that I thought was the good looking vehicle, not the Flex, it's ugly. JK Joe...LOL
  7. I agree Art. Nissan should have come good for that. It's costing them repeat customers. Toyota and Honda seem to be much better with issues such as that.
  8. Oooooohh Nice! Looking forward to giving it a good ride over the ice next winter. Yee Haa !!!
  9. If my roots were not so deep here Drifter, I'd do it too. Been tempted a few times with the two weeks on, two weeks off in some of the northern regions.
  10. My wallet? Probably would get pretty fat if I moved to Alberta. Likely going to get thinner staying here.
  11. I don't think any politician in North America could force other countries to raise their labor rates. And yes, corporate greed falls into place here too. It all boils down to the way society works here( or doesn't work) I keep thinking of the Roman empire.
  12. As far as the tanker angle is concerned, there is a lot of fear mongering about this. The oceans are filled with these running all over the world. Until we run out of oil completely, it will continue to be so. We either become a third world country or carry on.
  13. I agree fully that manufacturing and refining should be done here. Much of that issue stems from high labor costs here, which goes back to my staement of hard work. We have it too soft here. Where is our money going? It's headed to countries where people actually work hard for it. Yes, there is another side to that too such as worker abuse and so forth in such places. But can we turn that around? Not likely with the state of mind of workers here. There is also way too much red tape hiring people. I'd love to hire more, but the costs to hire someone is prohibitive. Not worth the headaches either. Multiply my one small part by thousands. Also, the more people that work at a small business the more regulations add up. I'll stay small, earn my own keep.
  14. What made a big part of our country to this point has been our natural resources and exporting it plus the hard work it took to do it. Without maintaining our exports, especially in times such as these, we would certainly be a lot worse off than we are now. Imagine the outcry when everything our ancestors worked and fought for goes down the drain. I agree the pipeline needs to go through. Good thing some provinces are doing well. Ontario needs to do more than pull up it's socks now. Time for many to quit crying about what we want the government to give us for nothing and work for it instead.
  15. I see the diesel in this truck isn't a Cummins. Makes sense in a 150, they would be too heavy. The engine was developed in Italy and is now co-owned by General Motors, Fiat and Chrysler. Hope they are as reliable as the Cummins.
  16. Yes Art. Had two Titans in with that issue. I believe the service bulletin was to replace the axle shafts, not the whole differential.
  17. I like the looks of them too Gerritt. Drive a lot of different vehicles being a mechanic and most don't really make much of an impression, but the Flex did. From what I see of them, a pretty good vehicle all around.
  18. If the engines were under warranty there were no issues with BRP at our shop. My 2001 175 ETEC is still running strong. Used every day through open water season since new.
  19. I'd say our local PC candidate, Vic Fedeli, who won last night will make a bid to be the next PC leader. I think he would be a good one.
  20. With ya there Joe. Hydro One is another thing on my mind. In my mind, there is only one alternative to make it an easy choice to make among the three bad ones.
  21. Honestly Sinker, I don't know enough about those outboards to give you a full answer for that. Most of my outboard experience was many years ago and were Johnson/Evinrudes. Sounds travel though a solid really fast, so it still may be coming up from below. I suppose it is possible the spline where the driveshaft slides into the engine block may be slipping in reverse, but not likely. Still would most suspect the issue at the bottom.
  22. Brian. The light can come on for either overcharging or undercharging. It will set a service code in the computer. Read the voltage on the system with an accurate meter when the light is on and let me know what it is. For the red brake lamp, check the level in the brake master cylinder. It may be a little bit low. In the reservoir there is a float switch that will activate when level is low. I'd almost bet that is what it is. Use proper brake fluid only. There are many makes and models out there that are difficult to access spark plugs. Fortunately, most only require to be changed very infrequently.
