  1. There were a lot of Moto-skis around here way back then too. A winter trip by the gang into our camp about 15 years ago.
  2. Hey Wally. My dad ran those for years. You are right about dependability. They were tanks! This was one of my first rides on one. I'm the little guy on the seat, circa 1959 or 60.
  3. Even the team in Hamilton (that should exist- cheer on Basilli) is tied with the Leafs. Bettman is an idiot, why shun a guy with money that wants to put in a team that MAKES MONEY !
  4. I rode this one last year. 07 Skidoo was rebuilt after a customer crashed it and traded it in. My dad was riding the Tundra. They are a fun little sled too.
  5. Fisherman, my grandmother said 40 years ago the same thing. "Mark my words" she said. I just went "Huh?" Easy to see what she was talking about now.
  6. The way I lose mitts? Something cheap with thinsulate will do.
  7. Thanks Lew. I will ask them if they have tried it. The guys clean up close to 300 boats each fall and they do try anything new that comes along. So far they always go back to the Slimy Grimy.
  8. Lew I am always looking for better product when it comes to this. We use Slimy Grimy now, have you used it before? And if you have is "on&off" better? Thank you.
  9. Terry, you have a warped sense of humour. But look at who started it too. PS. Did they say anything about starting up a Canadian chapter? I may volunteer to take the money.
  10. That would be great Wayne. Catch a really big one.
  11. Thank you for taking the time to update the standings Carole. Although it is a kick in the for our team.
  12. DanD has the most likely solution to this issue. Also sometimes the grease to lubricate the starter drive shaft will impede the motion to engage the flywheel. Fisherman, there is truth to the marine guys statement. Although I leave my battery inside my boat (disconnected) I do charge it once through the winter, just in case. A charged or even semi charged battery will not freeze. Battery's will deteriorate faster in warmer temperatures, it's when the cold arrives that the bad ones show up when more amps are required to crank. The cold will actually make your stored charged battery last longer because less chemical reaction is taking place.
  13. I think a few of the voters were kissing butt. Both France's? Nope. Important guys, yes, but the racers are why the people go. David Pearson should have been there.
  14. I gave up supporting the Leafs. Sad really. How can I support a team that refuses to support it's fans? Let Hamilton get a team, the Leafs need financial competition.
  15. Tread pattern is important but don't be fooled by it. The rubber makeup and internal structure are more what makes the tire. A good winter tire will make your vehicle incredibly agile and safer in winter conditions. Do your research before you buy. This will also apply to summer runners too. Big box stores will sell you tires but often the sales people really don't know much about how they work in driving conditions. They just like to make the sale. Go to a reputable tire shop and give them a chance first, it's what they do, so they should sell you a set of what you really need.
  16. I bet that shrunk up rod will fit inside your pantleg for sneaking out at work. Really enjoy your reports Snag.
  17. A Shimano reel is to fishing as Honda is to cars.
  18. I would take him in a heartbeat but my wife would draw the line. We already have one. I would like two. Hope you find a good home for him, he looks a a great pooch.
  19. I just reread your original post and wondered if 4500 RPM is full throttle? If so you may be overpropped, I think it should be 5000 to 5500.
  20. No problem. I wasn't sure so I asked the outboard guys in our shop. ecmilley's suggestion about poor water flow could also easily be the issue too as well as other problems. John, I think they were called surface gap plugs. Not too common, they tended to foul easily.
  21. The way the combustion chamber and the fuel charge is shaped they don't want the electrode over the spark plug interfering. What happens is it will create a vacuum around the spark and it will misfire. Kind of a pain in the butt the first time you do it but it gets easy after a few times. I just grab a few boxes of them and go at it. My 'Rude needs a new set for next year but they have lasted 3 seasons and around 250 hours of running. Car racers have been indexing spark plugs for years. Hemi's were especially responsive to this.
  22. These engines had a system that OMC called "SLOW". It has a module that if it detects a problem it will reduce engine RPM in order to help prevent engine damage. Faulty temperature sensors are a common problem. It doesn't need to be fuel injected to be controllable.
  23. Jeez...where are the guys yelling ....SEAFOAM ! It's going into "limp" mode. The module is sensing the overheat or maybe another problem and limiting the RPM. Time to hook up the scanner.
  24. Haven't seen a lot of boats out there in the last week or so. The pickerel were biting OK when you could find them. Apparently the bass have really been hitting hard, smallies and largies.
  25. Put me down for 0$ too. The money already isn't going to where it should. First they need to start reducing massive government overspending.
