I can't justify spending a lot on sunglasses. Too easy to lose or damage in most of my boating situations.
Had an expensive set fall off the console while under way and promptly blew out the back of the boat.
I have hooked up the sound to the stereo and cranked up the sound rather than looking at the signal meter. If you use the site Terry directed you to and follow the instructions it will get it very close. The last one I did was spot on.
It isn't the weight of your anchor that holds the boat in a wind. It's the way the tines of the anchor grip the bottom. The more rope you use it decreases the angle allowing better hold. Why would you want a heavy anchor unless you need the exercise?
When fishing a reef for pickerel I try to anchor well up wind. This accomplishes a few things. I use a relatively light anchor and a long rope. Makes it easy to lift if I am moving frequently. The long rope allows a decreased angle which allows the anchor to grab the bottom better. But the best reason is I can move my boat around the reef without pulling anchor. By snubbing the anchor rope on different points on the boat in a wind you can move a surprisingly long distance covering both sides of a reef. Also you can let out even more rope to increase the coverage. I have at least 200 ft of rope and rarely fish any deeper than 35 ft.
I traded my SUV in on one of these models.
Figured to beat the rush as these are going to go like hotcakes when there's no gas.

Usually I get at least one fish shack floor or a top of a dock drift in to my place each season, never a whole one. It has supplied me with enough lumber for several projects over the years. Makes up for all the garbage and other crap that ignoramuses leave on the ice.
When you are at full throttle it is using more fuel. Once the fuel in the float bowl is used up it will quit. If the fuel flow is restricted but not completely blocked it may run fine at lower throttle position. A fuel pump could be the problem as well as dirt in a fitting. Verify the vent is functioning too. I will sometimes loosen the fuel cap if I suspect a venting problem. Seen this happen in cars too.
Got zapped while swimming in a lake east of Trout creek. No warning. Just a big white puffy cloud that turned nasty.
But it didn't affect me. affect me affect me ,.me affect,,, afeckd mi
Hope the weather stays warm for a few more days. NO MORE SNOW! (Thinking positive thoughts here)
Possibly Wayne, but from what I know of my Grandpa he was a progressive thinking man. He would have been fascinated by aluminum boats and I would bet he would have made some himself had he lived a full life. He was a blacksmith/mechanic/engineer by trade and apparently could fix most everything. Wish I could have met him.
It's been a long winter and even a longer time since the last boat ride. It was so nice today that I hooked up to a boat and away I went.
Stopped by the house and pulled on some long underwear cause it usually gets a little chilly out on the lake this time of year.
When I arrived at Wades Landing there wasn't a lineup to launch today.
Sure feels good to hop in a boat......even if it is a tiller
This was as far as I expected to get today. One more week and should be able to get the last kilometer across Hunters Bay. I can see my place across the bay.
Still some thick ice to melt. This time last year it was long gone from here.
Came across this guy near our boathouse.
And that is todays report.
Nipissing still for the most part is ice covered. Fish Bay is about half open but that happened a couple weeks ago.
Some has since refrozen
Be at least two weeks yet, more cold weather next week. yuuuk!
Anything is possible with these Glen but it would only be defeating the design.
An open bottom, easy to maintain, light, strong and inexpensive are all what have made these one of the oldest boat manufacturers made in Canada.
That's a loaded question!.
Should be more than a couple opinions here But that is why there are many different kinds and options, to each their own.
Here's another good option, but I will admit a little bias. They are a good boat though.
