    Highway Tunes

Just thinking of that tune as well
  2. Going fishing and catching decent fish is like drinking from the 'fountain of youth'. Experiencing this joy for a lifetime could be seen as entering "the dark side" Thanks,
  3. Catching some fish is what is all about. At least you didn't waste time and gas going to the Kawarthas.
  4. Great play-by-play of the fishing chasing the lure, as the graph displays!
  5. Nice fish under pretty tough weather for that area Looks like it is snowing in northern half of Alabama from this latest radar. http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/...cation=USGA0132
  6. Nice pile of different species of fish! They say 10% of fisherpersons catch 90% of the fish, my guess is you are probably in the 10%. Keep fishing bro'
  7. HaHa, use the same Costco Kirkland but in dark roast. I remember a few years ago coming back from fishing and stopping at a Timmies and i think they didn't swipe debit cards and i had no cash. I didn't go there anyways but now surely i won't.
  8. Feel like i am 12 yrs. old when something decent is caught, time dissolves when on a fishing quest.
  9. Just for the heck of it, picked Team B from leftover Canadian players Goaltenders Carey Price, Montreal Steve Mason, Columbus Marty Turco, Dallas Defencemen Dion Phaneuf, Calgary Jay Bouwmeester, Calgary Mike Green, Washington Brian Campbell, Chicago Sheldon Souray, Edmonton Kevin Bieska, Vancouver Tyler Myers, Buffalo Forwards Jeff Carter, Philadelphia Mike Smith, Ottawa Vincent Lecavalier, Tampa Simon Gagne, Philadelphia Martin St. Louis, Tampa Ryan Smyth, Los Angeles Micheal Cammalleri, Montreal Marc Savard, Boston Brad Richards, Dallas Nathan Horton, Florida John Tavares, New York Islanders Steve Stamkos, Tampa Still not a bad team for non-picks.

    GCD-AWOL

GCD seems to have a keen interest in Ontario fishing, hope he starts posting again. Whatever happened to Holdfast as well?
  11. Sorry to ruffle any feathers Hunting for moose, deer, geese etc... is pretty cool! I guess i'm not into shooting coyotes or crows. HaHa, that is probably where that phrase came from! Agree
  12. Sounds like a good day on the ice Quinte has to be one of the best for size and numbers of fish.
  13. This is OFC meaning ontario FISHING network with a big slant towards catch and release. Can you catch and release a coyote after shooting it dead? Is this a hunting forum? Kill, Kill, Kill, shoot a gun Kill, Kill, Kill. Shoot to thrill, waste them
  14. Great video! Seems like quite a bit of time to get out as long as you remain calm. Really learned a lot from this video. Thanks!
  15. Nice going on the fishies, not a big fan of ice fishing but will go to Quinte for those eyes. First ice is always the best there.
  16. Nice mix of species! The sturgeon is cool and the walleyes were probably tasty
  17. Thanks for replies and PM's Those fish were caught on Rattlin Raps in shad colour. Your right! Luckily there was another boat there which we immediately asked for help once it was clear there was a problem. It is dangerous to do this, thus i post these with trepidation. Have been doing this for 20 yrs. plus there wasn't a life threatening situation or horrible conditions. The wonky motor wasn't realized until we were out there, the difference between survival suits and lifejackets is negligible in this situation. the survival suit takes away some mobility and we are not to far from shore if they need to retrieve our bodies for identification. HaHa, Harrison you are correct it was an Alumacraft that gave us the tow. If you know these guys we are so grateful as they immediately helped. The driver of said boat shared his story of harrowing breakdown there in the winter. I think the biggest disappointment was having to leave, after all the preparation and waiting so long for the prime conditions. It sounds like you might have enjoyed fishing that day Harrison. This was the first time in over 25 yrs of boat fishing i needed a tow and first time in nearly 20 yrs at this location that there was a boat issue. Thanks again folks.
  18. Have been waiting for 9 months to do this type of fishing. In the winter sportfish are attracted to baitfish here near the shoreline. You need a boat and some light northerly winds to make this happen. Everything looked perfect today so it was a go. Despite some motor problems to start (not starting) eventually we were up and running. Excitement was high as we knew the fish were going to be caught, much like in the decades before. Got to the spot and started trolling, seconds later first fish on! Nice Brown Trout! Moments later after Dave caught his brown, I caught one as well. Way smaller, but at least within minutes there wouldn't be a skunking. Then the motor stopped, it started again but wouldn't go in forward gear. It went in reverse but not forward. Luckily there was another boat there so we quickly asked them for a tow back to shore. So after 10 minutes are fishing for the day was done Big thanks to folks who towed us back to vehicle or else we would had to go in reverse for a long while. Anyone have knowledge or experience with small outboard repair shops in GTA? Have 2 9.9's one needs a tune up the other needs a little work probably gear oil as well. Anyways gave this fishing a try. Hopefully will have better engine luck next time.
  19. Thanks for posting this for your fellow fishing enthusiasts Looks like you had some quality time on the water.
  20. If the compost is brewing to your like, despite the intruder, why not just leave it? Had evidence of an intruder in my garage, so set a trap and nailed this. Thought rats in Toronto were an urban myth until i saw this one. What a relief to get this away from the house. Actually weighed it , 15 ounces!
  21. Hopefully you can find a taxidermist that could do a replica of that fine fish. Would be a challenge to get those colour patterns right.
  22. Great report and pictures! Those pods of fish should be somewhere up the bay when ice fishing starts
  23. Always thought that trolling the St. Lawrence for giant fall musky would be pretty good. Would have to be all expenses paid full week trip in a heated cabin type boat.
  24. If the problem is persistent eventually there will be a diagnosis. Try your best to live your regular life.
  25. A lot of big pike there! Not bad for southern Ontario.
