  1. Adding morels to those fiddleheads, with a serving of fresh caught fish, cannot be beat at this time of year.
  2. The underwater pictures are the best! What a cool way to spice up a report. Thanks very much
  3. That is not a whitefish, it is a fallfish. That is a brook trout however. Is that Rice Lake in the Kawarthas? Uncommon catches from that area. Have caught brookies from little tribs of Otonabee R. and Rice 20+ yrs. ago so who knows?
  4. Wow, wouldn't wanna bring you fishing with the kids. They would all be scared you would phone the cops or CO's or something.
  5. Those are some hefty lings/burbot. You got alot of decent fish in your reports. Thanks
  6. Have been here long enough to remember Irishfield's first post
  7. Hmmm...this guy primarily was into Evinrude. More food for thought,it seems that especially in the future 4 strokes will be the way to go.
  8. Nice report there Fidel! The halibut must've been superb.
  9. Was thinking the same thing for a smaller engine. I guess a larger engine might take some thought. The guy was pretty straight up when talking about future 2 stroke technology changes. Selling a 4 stroke would put more money in his pocket.
  10. The good folks here really helped you out Nice fish, keep at it!
  11. Recently was talking with a marine dealership owner and i was interested in getting new 9.9 outboard. I thought 4 stroke was the way to go despite the weight. He told me that new 2 strokes are better. All the technology that goes in 4 strokes like fuel injection etc... is going into 2 strokes and eventually the 4 strokes will go the way of the dinosaur. I was surprised at the comments and now confused about future purchase. Looking for more input.
  12. You will find your learning curve will go through the roof by fishing with Hodgey. Back in the late 90's i entered the CSF contests and Hodgey dominated in all species. Lots of good fishing still to be had
  13. Harrison, was thinking it would take 5yrs. of playing free a bit everyday before putting money towards it. Looks like pretty interesting game
  14. Some nice crappies there! Thanks for the details on locating and catching these fish in tougher conditions. Maybe i will give it try next weekend
  15. Just started playing poker a couple of weeks ago. At least the free chip games is helping me learn a bit about poker hands. Can't help but think i am being setup to lose money online if tried money games.
  16. For the sake of fishing? Probably somewhere in eastern Ontario. Big muskies of St.Lawrence/Ottawa river, bass of L. St. Francis, huge walleye at Quinte, big speckies across border in Quebec, etc... Maybe not the outdoor splendor of N. Ontario but plenty of the biggest and most prized of gamefish.
  17. Welcome to the board Make sure you are well equipped for a muskie if you decide to land one. Plenty of info using search function for proper catch and release of a musky. Regardless, you should have a great time. Good Luck!
  18. Not much to add here, try a small countdown rapala (CD03-05) or usual small Panther Martin for casting near shorelines. Should be a memorable trip no matter what
  19. Have been using the red-cloured Power Pro since it came out and love it. The toughest, most castable line have bought. Check your reel for puny spikes or wear along anywhere it feeds through.

    ONWARD

Keep it going Peter Cigarettes and the business of making them are evil.
  21. HaHa great post, the sunfish/bluegills are way scrappier than crappies. Lots of times they are together at this time of year and you could always tell a bluegill when it hit the tube, kinda like a litle bass. The crappie fight like wet socks in comparison. The filleting of the fish is the least fun but eating them can't be beat.
