  1. I love vegetables, most all vegetables with very few exceptions. They generally fill two thirds of my plate and I want them to look just like and taste just like the way they were grown. Nothing more, nothing less.
  2. You need a girth measurement as well to get a decent estimation.
  3. Ultra processed garbage, no thanks. https://ancestral-nutrition.com/beyond-meat-is-beyond-unhealthy/
  4. Seriously John, congratulations. I'd love to be a patron, no time for outside employment with my rod work. I had more free time punching the clock in the ole hell hole. Message me privately.
  5. Get down here with the "Toon" Brian, you can do it.
  6. Anything you'll find in Bronte is in 16 mile.
  7. Mmmmmm.....Mooose Burgers. Ground Moose mixed with Caramelized Onions. Had one for dinner with Onion, Tomato, Lettuce and some of my homemade Rhubarb Relish.
  8. Great report buddy, worth reading even though my neck is a little sore from picture viewing.
  9. I took my daughters and their boyfriends to see Chicago this past Saturday evening. It was a great evening and a great show. They ended the evening with a resounding extended version of 25 or 6 to 4 that had everyone on their feet. (video not from Saturdays show)
  10. So much for my diet, you done made me hungry.
  11. Had a friend give me a bunch of Morels. I used them up quickly with some BBQ Tenderloin Steak dinners. So good.
  12. I very much like Bush brand as well Brian (when I haven't time to make my own), but it's what I had in the cupboard.
  13. Had some fresh Walleye (all cleaned and pan ready) given to me, made a quick shore lunch type dinner.
  14. When I have the time and I'm in the right frame of mind I'll mess with them endlessly.
  15. I have never rinsed but I do agree with Smitty55, you need that pellicle to form.
  16. I'd be all over those Mussels Joe, mine, mine all mine!
  17. Definitely get it replaced. If you were closer to Hamilton I'd do it for you.
  18. Here ya go Brian, home made fish cakes (salt Cod) and beer battered Shrimp......Mmmm, Mmmm, good!
  19. I recently raffled off a donation custom Sage Rod Build with all the proceeds going to the LHFC Trout hatchery. I was very proud of the work on this build and it raised $2,150.00 for the rearing of Steelhead to eventually be stocked into the Saugeen River. A few pictures of the build.
  20. Lord tunder'n.......It's never a waste to properly smoke fish.
  21. A friend (Bill Shearer) dropped by the other day and gave me a fresh 7 lb Brisket so I went to work on it yesterday. I cut it into 3 manageable pieces, then seared it in my 6.5 litre Dutch Oven. Afterwards I simmered up a Mirepoix, threw the meat back in on top with garlic and seasonings, dumped a bottle of wine in and let 'er simmer low and slow for the afternoon. Afterwards I removed the Brisket, pureed the stock with my immersion blender and thickened 'er with a home made dark Roux. Yippeeeeeee! It was delicious.
