Years ago on a small lake near home I consistently out fished any one I took out & they always asked what was up, I blamed their line &/or leader if they were using one, I used Andes Green 10lb & they had a variety of white or clear lines, if I used a leader it was always black & they used silver, I out fished them likely 10 to 1 & when they used my rods it was a lot closer likely 6 for me & 4 for them, does it make a difference maybe, I'm not positive but my friends all bought black leaders & green line & started catching more fish bass, pike, musky, trout & salmon, I think it boils down to confidence Just my 2 cents Richard

Always nice to tag another fish, previous trip I forgot my Reading glasses & really can't see the # on the Tags with out them Eugenia with a 18.5" Lmbass on a Zero off a house boat One of Trent's caught that day, 1st ever caught on a top water just a cheap Pop R imitation he was happy 30.25" Musky caught on a Strike King Titanium Quad blade Spinnerbait, 1000's of 1.5" to 2" minnows in the water around our feet so we down sized our lures Here's another 1st for these guys a 30" Musky on a Ripplin Red Fin, I just landed a 2lb Smallie when it hit right beside us One of the nice Smallies caught that day by Darcy & I The icing on the cake with this 37" Musky caught on a XPS jerk bait slow trolled behind the canoe paddling to our exit point, We just went threw a big boulder field when my rod bent I had a hard time getting my rod out of the holder & i thought I'm snagged but when I got the rod in my hands I knew the fight was on, I let out a lod roar so the couple that was in front of us would know I had a nice one on, Darcy had the net in the water 4 times before he netted it, 3 runs away from the canoe & one under it, Dave & Bonnie made it back to see the end of the fight & when it was all said & done there was one treble on the out side of the mouth holding on This little guy was nice to see the future looks good as long as the people practice Catch Photo & Release Eugenia after the watching the College Tourney we went back out & I caught this 19.5" on a Flip'n Jig Tight Lines Richard

I was asked to be the Weigh Master for the Kids Day Tournament on the long weekend in July & they ended up with 123 kids registered, every one had a great time Free entry & prizes, plus a grab bag & Participation certificate for every one that entered, lots of pictures but they aren't related to me so I'm not going to post them, they also planned an Adult tourney the August long weekend & had volunteers to run it til about 2 weeks before the tourney & they backed out so Ang asked if I could step up & run it again & I did, they had about 40 adults & here are a few pictures of the results Richard Not every body wanted to touch there fish here's one team that had fun Not big but it's a Bass even a nice rock bass was brought in Little nicer Another team effort I think this was his 3rd pike he entered I love to fish but don't even go there, no way I'm touching that thing haha Caught from shore This one was 10 minutes to late but he didn't care And the winners are Hope you enjoyed, wish I could have fished it but it was fun watching the people that really don't fish much bring in their catch, they are planning next years already bigger & better Richard

Switch to a Credit Union if your not happy with your bank I've had no problem's with the one I belong to. I can't see why they're doing this look at all the running around your doing your going to be in better shape & your not the one that's the member, maybe that's what the extra charges are for Richard -

Terminators have been lossing blades for years, KVD Spinnerbaits seem to last for me & they work great, Nichols & OSP are a little more money but worth it for Bass water, they don't like Pike much Lure destoyers Richard

Sorry for your loss be strong Ron Richard -
A buddy & I bought a Fishing Buddy side scan pole style for canoeing the Saugeen River we found a few holes that were 11' & over 20' deep that we never knew about, twice when kids were with us the side scan went off & I said there's a fish & I'll catch it & did they were impressed, biggest problem was while we were paddling you couldn't keep the unit in the holder good enough & it would vibrate the side of the canoe very annoying, we also had water get in the screen & cause it to put lines across the screen, Hummingbird always replaced it when it happened but they might have that problem fixed by now, I should check with my buddy to see were it is Richard

OK I might sell you 2 for $35.00 EACH Richard

big pike and little pike in same river areas?
spinnerbaitking replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
HAHA Maybe not but they sure don't get that big from eating them either, I've seen bigger than that in both systems & every year there is bigger than that caught in a local family's derby but then they eat them Richard -
big pike and little pike in same river areas?
spinnerbaitking replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
I know there is bigger Pike in the water your fishing, just not lots of them because so many people take them home, a camper at one of the lakes was complaining to me about not being able to catch as many big Bass & Pike as we used to, as I questioned him about how many bigger fish the campers took to eat he implied quite a few, I kind of mentioned they were the problem & told him how long it takes for a fish to get that big & if they kept taking the bigger fish out of there they better not be complaining to me any more about not catching bigger fish, I think my point was spread around the camp but I'm not sure. The river is likely your best bet you never know. If you truely want to go for big Pike we should hit Lake Huron up this Fall or next Spring, we caught about 8 over 33" this past spring with a 39" & 40" being the biggest we caught, saw bigger ones just couldn't get them to hit Richard
