  1. Whitby harbour has got bested me once again. I grabbed a little Cleo, and was chuckin that around for a while. Tried two different locations, a spot mid harbour and the pier both with nadda to show for it. The water level seems really low in that place right now.
  2. Right on, thanks for some info. You think my lucks better fishing off the pier than by a boat launch where the water is shallower? As for lures, I don't have any Cleo's at the moment.... think some jerkbaits, crankbaits or weedless spoons will do the trick?
  3. Anyone fish this often with any luck?? I was thinking of goin' down and seein if i can't catch anything. Anyone know what kinda fish might be in there this time of year?
  4. I like the idea of Cook's Bay, and I plan on being there... as long as my work schedule doesn't screw me over.

  6. Thems some beauty smallies man! Congrats! Did you cut your hand up or something? looks bloody.
  7. Ahahahah well played, good sir. I ate some super spicy chili today, and have been suffering a burning ring of fire.
  8. Hey, I'm looking into the Humminbird 140c fishing buddy. I like how portable it is, anyone here ever use it before? Any ideas on quality? Any other recommendations? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  9. That's awesome, hopefully they get that camera back. Also, those are some monster wallys they caught.
  10. Beauty fish bud! You must teach me...
  11. If that was sabotage... that's one greasy, scumbag move. Hell, no one owns a fishing spot (unless it is on your property)... if someone manages to stumble across it, well... deal with it.
  12. I'm still procrastinating... feeling a little lazy, would have to dig out the camera and deal with technology. The pictures are terrible though, I'm not a photographer in the least. But the stories are all that are required. Once I gain the energy and will to upload the photos, I'll make sure to include the stories... that way you don't have to look at the terrible camera work hahahaha. Unfortunately, I don't have any sort of boat at the moment... So fishing most fish is probably out of my range. I was thinking of trying my luck at some troot again, but I suck at finding and catching troot... finicky buggers. I'm thinkin' I'd like to find some help from some experienced troot fisher.
  13. I worked, and worked, and saved and saved... and lived like a cheap ass to be able to go on that trip. Well darn' worth it. Now that I'm home, and back to work tomorrow... I'm gonna have to get me some fishin' in.
  14. Heya fellas! I just got home from a couple of months backpacking around the UK and Europe. Damn good time! How's the fishing been for everyone? What are ya guys fishin' for at the moment? The entire time I was over there, I was kicking myself for not bring my ultra lite.... and fishing gear was far too expensive over there for my budget. I was having some fishing withdrawals, and am feeling some fishing in the next couple of days.
  15. What would you consider bigger baits?
  16. Alrighty, thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll give Bonerville a run through, hopefully with some success... Trouts always seems to evade me. If all goes well, that will change. Thanks again.

  18. Holy mackerel! That's are some monsters. I need to hook into a pike of those proportions.
  19. Oh yeah? Hmmm, that just may have been my problem... I was working the pools and logs, which a few times turned into a regret. Stupid sticks... I'm gonna give it another go tomorrow morning up north of Courtice. I think it's Farewell I'm hittin' up. Just south of Taunton, do you think that's north enough... or would I be better off driving a bit further?
  20. Natural presentation eh, like a worm, small hook, light line, bobber?
  21. Right on, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks man.
  22. I went for a hike along a local creek today, decided to bring my ultra light and a little spinner. Didn't catch anything, but I did see and attempt to catch a really big brown trout. It was around 2ft long, must be one from Lake O. I tried and I tried, couldn't get him to chomp down, instead he eventually booked it. So I followed him a little bit, and gave up. How do you get these guys to bite? I had a similar thing happen back in the spring with some Rainbows... weren't interested in worms, roe, spinner, cranks... nadda.
  23. Also, make sure the plank doesn't catch fire! hahaha, had that happen a couple times with the crappy bbq at the cottage.
  24. As for the cedar planking, you let it soak for I think a few hours... put er in the BBQ at a low temperature, put your desired seasoning/herbs/spices on, then slap those ol filets on that there plank. Close the lid, and check it every so often until it's finished. Delicious.
