  1. Thank you all for some tips, hopefully I can land me one this weekend.
  2. I'm going to Cook's Bay this weekend, looking to catch a pike... Never fished for pike in the winter, any tips?
  3. Weird, it's like... I'm in a loop. Keep waking up to the same song every morning
  4. Hm, you're right. You did shoot the wrong rodent. That one looks a little suspicious, should be assassinated...
  5. Does anyone go out on the ice on Canal Lake? I understand there's a current from the Trent canals that may impede some ice development... but are there areas that are solid? Any info is greatly appreciated.
  6. Hell yeah I'll take a shirt! I like nipfisher's idea of keeping it simple, maybe just a fish (which ever species you so chose) with OFC printed below/above/beside it. I also do like the idea of putting some of the money back into the fisheries, gotta put some back to replace the ones taken.
  7. Nice fish bud! By the way, where'd you find those near Oshawa at this time of the year?
  8. How do you hook the dead bait? through the back behind the dorsal fin? or through the head?
  9. Right on man!! Always great to see fellow Zappa listeners. Zappa is the king of music, hands down.
  10. Listening to... The Last Salmon Man by Primus. Kinda fitting isn't it?
  11. I do apologize for my hastiness in that post. I got a little ahead of myself haha. "Woah fishing get together?!? AWESOME!" and before I knew it I wrote that without reading. Thanks alot though, if all goes well I will be there. Hopefully nothing pops up, I would like to try my hand at some North Bay fishing.
  12. Sounds very interesting indeed. And I am mulling it over in the ol' thinking compartment. Is there any nearby cheap motels to crash the night in? Or am I to curl up in a fetal position and hope the night passes by quickly?
  13. HAARP is a real thing. There is a huge "research facility" up in Alaska. Who knows what they are doing up in bum-damn-nowhere, Alaska. It's the secrecy that scares people. If they are just researching the Ionosphere, then why not release news feeds about what they've found. And personally, I do not know if it can do everything "they" say it can... And I, too, am concerned. Also, with SOPA/PIPA ... The only two countries that currently censor, govern and police the internet are .... -insert drumroll- ... North Korea and China.
  14. Mmm... indeed. Have anyone seen those videos of the "strange sounds" from all over the world? I don't quite know what to think of them yet. They are all over youtube. HAARP is ... CENSORED...
  15. Greetings sir. In my opinion, SOPA/PIPA is a horrible piece of legislation. A way of governing and policing the internet. Luckily, we don't live in the States so it won't effect us... however if it does pass, that means Canada would immediately start working on passing the law.
  16. Spough, thank you very much for the tips. I'm going to try 'em out this weekend, and I shall let you know what happens.
  17. Yeah it has been a crazy winter so far. It could very well be a factor to the lack of fish. Too bad cook's bay is still too sketchy... Anyone ever go for bluegill through the ice on Pigeon? I've been mulling it over in the ol' brain...
  18. My condolences, sir. Hope the best for you and your family. Stay strong.
  19. Fair enough, at least I'm not the only one hah. It's only a matter of time... We will conquer the Scug.
  20. So... I've been going to Scugog for the last 3 weekends, and have been skunked every time. Well, not entirely skunked... a handful of dinky perch... at least there was some sort of action for 20 minutes. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone got any tips to find bigger perch or any other species of fish? I'm not asking for your personal hot spots or anything.
  21. I walked on Canal Saturday to check ice but didnt fish it. 6-10 inches of ice on the n-w side of the lake, going east toward the causeway/island less. The depth where I checked was 4 FOW or less. On Friday there was alot of open water in the current areas near the causeway and along the channel, much closed up by Sunday. Is there any public access up that way? The only public access I know is on Centennial Park rd. You think the little deep pockets are frozen over enough?
  22. Hmmm, still seems to risky for me... maybe in a week or two. Anyone happen to know if Canal has any ice on it yet?
  23. Nice fish bud! I've been out on Scugog a few times now... other than a handful of tiny perch... i've been skunked every time.
  24. Really? A piranha in Ontario?? I guess it's just people's pets that get released into the waters?
