So you need gloves on than? Think that kinda proves my point, if you need to wear physical protection as to not create an injury.

lol, I disagree

Lindy Darter chart glow, Jigging Rap, More-silda kit, Live Forage Fish Fry and 3-way spreader just purchased. Wow hope I do some verticle jigging in summer cause this was expensive. Def had a lot of fun clearing out my tackle box of summer Cranks, spinners and Jitterbugs lol. Thanks for all the posts, will definetly get some hand sanitizer!

Hey guys, Next weekend marks the first "hardwater" fishing weekend of my fishing buddies and I. We've reserved a "Super Bungalow" and looks like we'll be put in the south bay. I am excited to get a line back in water as I have not been out since Sept. Anyways, with all the Nippissing hard icers in here, I figured I might gain a bit of OFC knowledge. Thanks in advance, Nipfisher! 1st question o'great fishers is, are there vehicles on the ice in that area? Was told usually just park next to hut, but of course I am a bit weary of that. 2nd question is, which lures should I be jigging? Ill have the tried and true Mr.J and Williams Wabbler, Jigging Rap, and spoons. I do NOT want Perch, I don't in summer and I don't in winter. I am really trying for a PB after I had such a skunky summer (one big smallie). So its big Walleye and Northerns that I'm really after. 3rd question o'great fishers is, are there any things you would have brought to a hut, had you known what it was going to be like? I really appreciate belonging to this forum, I have already learned so much, that come summer ILL be the new "go to guy" in my group. Can't wait till Friday!!!

Congrats OP! I am coming to the time when i will quit. Its just so tough when your brain talks you in and out of stuff ( wait what? ) This year will hold my final days of smoking, and its always good to hear that people have been able to do it!

Tick tock(taps on watch). Go in the morning and be vocal. Nip it in the bud so to speak. Dealerships go through this everyday, you don't. Also find the part number, and ask their parts dept, if they have any. These guys are not true salesmen so generally your gonna get an honest guy, ask when the last time he remembers one going out. Indentify your vehicle but not where you bought it. I spent 2 years at Audi and one at Toyota, in sales, left because its true, the stigma/ stereotype you have to be at least a bit crooked to be successful. Any Vehicle that came in with any warning light on was purchased by the dealership at an underaverage price and are not fixed, in the hopes that they can quickly sell it at an average price to a commercial buyer (trader) thereby not costing the dealership money to have it fixed, reguardless of warranty (TIme=Money) They want you to suffer cost as well so be wary of dates in not so near future. Read my first post again, its sound.

Speaking from experiance, they are hoping you are just gonna go away. And for anyone else- if you see a waring light on a year old vehicle DON'T buy it.
-
All dealerships do this, to varying degrees. You only have 30 days, I believe, to take the vehicle back. 1st thing Don't deal with your salesmen or the sales manager as they will keep you in suspense for to long. Find out the Dealership managers (GM) name and correspond with him. The sales guys are too concerned with their next sale to bother with you. If you can show up first thing in the morning and don't leave until you've been given a "work on date" make sure its within days. AND make sure everyone you know has heard this place gave you a hard time.

They're awesome, we've actually caught bass on a line rigged with the gopro underwater, it turned out really well. Its basic to operate and has the time lapse feature, which is also good for Ice Fishin. Its also used in many HD tv shows incl. Mythbusters and The Amazing Race Negatives - get ready for endless hours in front of the computer - no more than 8ft away from camera during filming. Best at 4ft

Looking for a "tried and true" ice line /combo line for this coming season. Always, in the past (4 times lol) I've used my regular mono (Trout, in BC). Now, being in southern Ontario and fishing for things that have teeth (Walleye, Pike) Im struggling to figure out Flouro, Mono, or both. Its racking my brain. Anyone ?
-
Understood, thanks Terry.

Is the middle of February safe for a truck on the ice?..... For a weekend? Sooo looking forward to trying Nippissing this year!
-
That's a pretty dumb statement OP
-
More info- I use cranks(just got some suicks I'm excited to try), topwaters, spinners and jigs. I'm not sure if this has any bearing on the question but there it is.
-
I'm sure its been discussed, at length, but I'm making the switch from mono to braid and am wondering what do I use for a leader? Flouro or mono? I fish Bass and Walleye and incidental Muskie's. Do I go braid to flouro to steel leader when fishing for the toothed beasts? Again I'm sure its been discussed so even a link to the thread would be great! Thanks in advance!
-
This is the internet lol Thanks for the info Definitely gonna try it soon.
-
Bondy baits, jigging for Muskie? Post pics of bait please Nice fish by the way! Huge! Do our Muskie's bleed from their fins? I'm in shock I think

That's funny I grew up there. Casting spoons into the current and catching nice trout. Looks like someone snagged a spawner! Great pics great thread

Good post and completely accurate, boycott Walmart. Also, support the people who are on strike, if they have enough protection where they can strike and not lose their jobs they are doing us all a favour and indirectly helping our wages. There's got to be a bunch of us who don't make what were worth but don't want to risk our jobs by saying much. These guys are helping the bottom line on wage increases by setting examples of the standard wage.
