I started to run SeaFoam in my gas, since then my 88 50hp Evinrude always puffs some smoke on morninig startup. Smoke is just a way for the ol motors to say hello, I'm still alive.

I tow with a minivan. My 4L uplander has no problem with my little boat. Fully loaded I'm just shy of 2000lbs

I feel the pain. Last time I went out to get hooks and sinkers figured I'll be good with 20$. Walked out with a Daiwa T3 and a new Abu Villan.

I can see the marina out of my 10th floor window. I'm surprised how little traffic it gets at this time of the year. When PC heats up in the summer I just go to Marie Curtis and boat back to theCredit. My little 50 burns under 20L of gas a day so I'll go out of my way a bit to save on the ramp fees whenever I can.

Not anyone, just a business. If you need new equipment and your books are reasonable you can lease anything. The way it works in my situation: I make the deal with whoever I want, send it the paperwork. They buy the equipment and I lease it back from them. I can only guess but I don't see any differance between my air compressor and a motor; without them we would be out of business. _i just spilled a full cup of coffee all over my desk writing this.grrrr_

Don't buy, LEASE IT. When you lease you can amortize it quicker and all the interest is a business expense. If you buy you only get a small % of depreciation. When I need major equipment for the shop I use an independent co to finance everything form a new air compressor to air make up units. In the end it costs a few % but having the cash in your pocket keep the business running smooth. aside.... how can they charge 12k for 375lbs of material ~32/lb a 150hp huynday accent sells for 12k @ 2400lbs it works out to ~5/lb marine prices are fishy ...

I'm new to Erie; this is my second season owning a boat! She is a small 16ft so I keep a close eye on the winds and only venture out on calm days. .... TOO CALM on Lake Erie.... what do you think? do they just get spooked by the boat? or does the calm turn then off. I think I need to get away from the crowds and find my own school to play with. I know it's not a lure, line or a technique problem. I'll try again over the long weekend; this time I'll spend more time boating around looking for them. I want to figure out the perch before I start targeting the golden boys.

Went out and got a HD antenna for 50 clams; I get 9 channels. The rest I can watch on the net ..... Rogers used to rape for 200 a month.

I went out on Sunday; we launched at Turkey Point and fished the mouth or the bay. For my 4:30 am wake up call I was rewarded with 1 little perch, 3 pike and 2 bass. Not having a fish fry after 6 hours of fishing and a 350km round trip leaves me unsatisfied .....Frustrating to hear of guys limiting out...I want to be that guy!,,,,,

when you are buffing the paint just use plenty of water to keep things cool. for better cutting on the yellow stuff use a wool buffing pad.

You need shoes that dry real fast. I used my ol chuck taylors for many 2 week long trips in the park You'll also need a few lb's of rice and a big bag of drink mix for the swamp juice.

It feels like a pan, easy to clean but dangerously slippery when wet so in the last coat I added some Griptex.

CCMT's posted the great work he did on his boat so I thought I'd kill some time today and introduce my frypan. Like all boats this one comes with a story.... I got this for 1400 two seasons ago. My friends dad had a co-worker with a boat in the yard... I'll ask for you.....so I buy the boat sight unseen. I ended up with one hell of a project. All the wood had to go, all the paint had to go... you name it I replaced it. I regret not having the initial pictures but it's all for the best, I'd rather forget what it took to get her to this point.

Might it have to do with economics? mum works at timmys for 10.75/h and she only gets 4 shifts a week otherwise she would be F/T and eligible for benefits. Dad moonlights, it the daytime he drives fork lift @ 13.00/hour and at night drives pizza in a 15 year old corrolla hoping I'll make it one more week without that brake job. 3 kids in high school that all want Iphones oh and rent 1200/mo ....on the weekend dad WALKS down to the marina sits on his bucket and figures he CAN afford 1 iphone for the kids to share iif does not spend all that money on groceries.

I just went down this path. fuel: I had a tiny crack in the fuel line after the fuel filter. 20 min to replace 3 hours to locate Reverse: When I shift the RPM's went up but the gear failed to engage. This is tough one but likely related to linkage adjustment. 20 min to take it apart 3 hours to find the sweet spot where it all works just about perfect.. A lot of blood sweat and beer this weekend... but I'm ready now!!! just a few more days
