I to have been using nortons for virus protection and am not happy.It includes spy and adware that does absolutely nothing.I also use PCtools spyware doctor for spy and ad ware which picks up everything and is very good.As a suite they have antivirus as well but as yet I have not used it but I am going to switch this year.The renewal is so easy I usually wonder if I actually did it. Virus protection is not the main concern it use to be it is the spyware that is a major headache now. vance

Between the fishing show and the RV show where I talked to the reps from both garmin and lowrance everyone had to agree that garmin had better map coverage of Canada ESPECIALLY in the north.Lowrance is catching up but garmin is better as of now. vance

That 150 mercury has hydraulic steering run by a pump off the motor have seen them in action and they seem to work great.As far as reliability I have a 2001 40hp that I use alot and so far I have changed the plugs twice(I don't know why as the ones going in looked almost the same as the ones I took out) and the fuel filter and of course lower end lube. I use amsoil synthetic oil that doesn't smoke and seems to make the engine run cleaner.At the camp where I have my trailer they run smaller 2&4 strokes with no problem and have yet to hear of anyone with a newer merc with problems. vance

I have two lowrances at opposite ends and in over 30ft water they interfer with each other.So I just shut one off when in deeper water.Both have the wide cone transducer running at the same frequency but when I bought the second unit the salesman even though he knew it was a second unit either didn't know or didn't care about interferance. vance

Well my dad died today we were long time fishing partners ,I don't now how many times he talked my mom into a new boat to take the kid out fishing.Funny how much you learn from your dad when still fishing or trolling.He joined the army before WW2 and served for 30 years in Korea and a few places that he was not allowed to talk about. 90 years old is a long time but still not long enough - good bye dad. vance

For crying out loud ,my neighbor came to me last year asking if it was alright to park his 57ft antique fire truck in his drive way and I said no way unless I get to drive it . The recomended towing weights are based on the cars brakes not the engine and tranny.You have to be able to stop within specific distances to be legal.The simple addition of some sort of braking system on the trailer greatly increases the towing capacity of any vehical and from experience I know decreases the WHITE KNUCKLE factor. vance

I went thru the same thing last year with Look and wasn't to happy about losing speed and a few other channels.I now have Star choice satilite and internet DSL with look and It costs more money but I get all the channels I want. vance
