  1. I can run two live well pumps, two Lowrance HDS units, structure scan and a Point 1 electronic compass all day and still start a 200hp V-6 outboard. Keep the trolling motor batteries restricted to the trolling motor and charge your entire system after each use.
  2. Art does a great job of walking the line between allowing open conversation and ruling with hard and fast authority. You're obviously bent because something didn't go your way. Here's where you get to either invest your time and money into creating your own forum and run it at your level of implied perfection, or relax and enjoy the ride.
  3. Lol...I don't think that's too much to ask!
  4. I'd email them back and tell them you can't afford the unit at that price but you deserve the $50 gift card. You were inconvenienced due to their error regardless of whether you buy the unit or not. They are the reason you don't have the units now, not you.
  5. If I were a QB I would want the guys in front of me to not want to see me flattened. Hope there's harmony there at least.
  6. I agree with above. If you launch in Penetang you'll just end up running out to at least Roberts or Quarry anyway. I'd start at Honey Harbour and play around between Big Dog and North Bay or Deer. Lots of water plus if its windy, you're not getting pounded.
  7. Wow...I'm a Lowrance guy and still might buy one!
  8. Great report and as mentioned above, the pics are really good. I want to go to Guntersville now.
  9. Very true! Legal is legal. Personally, I just like to see the larger, mature fish get released...but it's not illegal to keep them it's just my personal choice. The smaller fish taste better anyway.
  10. lol so, any unicorns yet?
  11. I used a 3.2Mb camera for years. Now a cheapy phone takes a better picture so I don't carry it.
  12. Honestly, does it matter? As long as you're happy, it's your fish. It's far from the biggest smallie that's been posted here. My advice is this, since there's zero chance of you ever catching the same fish twice, you should invest in a good scale, camera and cutting board.
  13. It really sounds like more of a transducer placement issue than anything else. I'd start there and then begin looking at existing wiring if you are still having issues.
  14. Just read another article about a boating accident where an auto-inflate did not work. I think they're great for wearing while fishing as a "just in case" safety device but don't trust them while under power and up on plane. Be safe and wear a foam jacket while buzzing around the lake gents!
  15. LOL! Glad you have my same sick sense of humour Rick.
  16. It's a two way tie for the man crush award!! LOL
  17. I've found some great spots while doing 60mph on my way to another spot. One time I found a tiny hump with weeds in the middle of nowhere stacked with crappie. The hump was on the chart but looked like nothing at all...the weeds growth made it a hotspot.
  18. Guys, listen to Garnet. It's not the unit or the transducer. Heck the units that we're made in the 70's used to read above 60mph. Transducer location and position, transducer wiring and unit wiring(ie dedicated power lines) all contribute to the signal quality at ALL speeds.
  19. I've already made a request through the FOI Act!
  20. Yup, and cross reference with the members on his forum. I'll just bet he's on there.
  21. It really seems ironic that someone can request information under the Act anonymously!? Or did he?
  22. Hey you can't go there without stopping by... Come on people please stop the google map bad name places.
  23. I suggest we request this guys home address under the Freedom of Information Act.
  24. For warm water largies it's all in the preparation... Fillet the fish Get a cedar board and soak it in water Oil it well with olive oil and rub it down with your favourite spices Put the fish on it and BBQ 5-6 mins each side Remove from the heat Throw the fish away and eat the board.
  25. Hi and welcome. I've not fished above the chute much but fished below it a ton. Good luck!
