Talk to the owner and work out a mutually beneficial agreement to get the motor checked out by a same-brand service dealer. No offense to anyone on here but I've yet to read instructions that are complete for a proper compression test and they're not the same for every motor! Tell the owner you'll pay for his towing costs and if you don't buy it, you'll give him the mechanics report. It's a win win. As far as hours go, yes it depends on maintenance and ownership but also on the motor size and model. The 4 strokes are getting huge hours even in 250 class range whereas 2 strokes in the same range far short. Research the reviews on the two motors choices you have in front of you and see what you can pick up. Good luck.

I watched a piece of the Ottawa game and none of last night's match due to work. Sounds like I didn't miss much. Back to Ottawa...was it just me or did everyone cringe when Freddy had to touch the puck?? Geez he looked super shaky and there were a few goals he just should have had. The Anderson at the other end played great and won them the game hands down. Good for him, that's his job. So it's only a couple games in but as I see it 1) Nylander needs a punch in the face, 2) the Leaf defence is (under)performing perfectly as expected, and 3) I'm not seeing as much balanced scoring as I'd like. It won't take long for teams to realize that shutting down JT or AM will stifle near half their offence...and with little defence, I say oh crap. In last nights game, if Chicago had a "Kadri-like" guy shadow one of them, Toronto may have lost that game.

Nice to get the opening night win but come on...no speed, second to the puck dang near every time and lost most of the puck battles. It lead to them frantically flipping the puck out of their end and turnovers and more turnovers. I loved the amazing goals but was pretty frustrated watching that no show performance.

And why I use both....plus, Seafoam cleans fuel systems very nicely.

I know it's most likely overkill but I use both. I run regular fuel in my 2 stroke and since it's EFI, it's straight fuel in the tank. I got in the habit of always using Seafoam as a cleaning agent as opposed to a stabilizer and using Stabil as the stabilizer. So in the fall, I up the Stabil ratio and back off a bit on the Seafoam. Just my $0.02.

Hey! Now that you mention it I saw guys down there with cameras one day. Didn't look like fishing, it looked more like they were shooting an episode of Ozarks.

They get it right when it really matters. Hopefully, the people that got warnings and didn't get hit won't mind too much.
