Hair jigs or Canadian Wigglers... HH

Don't give up on turkey liver yet... chop the liver up into chunks and fry they until cooked through. Add the chopped liver to on chopped onion, chopped peppers and mix into two or three scrambled eggs. If you have some sausage laying around, chop that up and add it as well. Fry it up in some butter. HH Edit...one more thought. Chop up the fried liver and add it to chicken or turkey stuffing!

It looks like Rolloff is smart enough to stay away! LOL HH

And will chew anything! I mean anything... virtually every piece of furniture we own now has bite marks. She eats ants off the sidewalk. She eat worms off the sidewalk during rain. We had some windows installed and I found her eating insulation she pulled out of the empty window. Forget those fancy dog chew toys. they are destroyed within minutes! HH -

This is a pic of Maggie smiling. People ask us what breed she is and my reply is always... part Pyrenees, part Lab and part Piranha! HH -
Anyone care for some home fries.

Given the size of that tater, all you would need is a six pack for a seven course meal! HH -
That would be an assumption on your part... HH

For both roses and tomatoes, my mom used ask me to go down to the river and catch her some carp. She'd dig a hole right in front of her roses and for the tomatoes, right where she would put her plants. Chop up the carp with the shovel, back fill. All natural fertilizer. Her tomatoes and roses were the envy of the street. HH

It's been my experience that fishing lakes that are surrounded by year round cottages/homes are lakes that get hit pretty hard. HH

The best PP in Ontario is called Crown Land in my opinion. I get out of the city and fish to get away from people and rules. No way am I going to go to a PP and be told I can't... -talk to my buddies outside the tent after 9:00pm - play music at the site -purchase wood for a fire -pay the ridiculous daily fees -deal with the sheer numbers of people I was trying to get away from in the first place! OP, look for accessible crown land and do what you want! HH

Barry's post of his dog got me thinkin that many of us have man's best friend and it would be neat to see some of your dogs. Here's a pic of "Maggie", Great Pyrenees we rescued in September after our 15 year old white Lab passed away. Maggie is very affectionate, but also quite nuts! Pic is of Maggie sitting on my son's girl friend. Yah, shes a big dog! HH

That looks like a Pyrenees to me. Mine does the same thing! HH

@Big Cliff your recipe reminded me of something we did on a fly in a few years back. Chunked up the fillets and marinated them in Franks over night. Wrapped in bacon and grilled on the BBQ. A few drops of Franks while they cooked. HH

Just an FYI for those who may be interested... The bibs are on sale for $149 from $269 and the jacket is on for $149 from $199. Couldn't pass up the savings. If I don't like what they send me, I'll just send it back and keep looking. I have until May 24 before I need it. HH -

Thanks to all that replied! I just ordered the Cabelas Xtreme Jacket and Bib, both on sale right now! Thanks Bill! Barry, I checked out that site, but the offerings don't seem much better than what I have, thanks for your consideration. Crowman, thanks for this! Just a bit late though, but good info for the next person asking! HH -
After many years of abuse, my Costco special rain suit just aint cutting it anymore. I've seen suits prices from rally cheap all the way to are you freakin kidding me! I am hoping to avoid the "are you freakin kiding me" price range, but am open to pricing based on quality. At my age, this will likely be my last rain suit. All help is appreciated! HH

Fish Crisp display in front of the tank... HH

I was up there on the weekend. We had to weed our way through a lot of smaller fish, with two keepers and one over the slot. Jig and minnow, hook the minnow in the tail and let it swim. The fish were coming in waves, so be prepared to wait for them for a bit between waves. Time of day didn't seem to really matter. If I were going up, I would do my best to get away from the other huts and look for 15 to 25 ft of water under the ice. There is plenty of ice and the ice roads were perfect on the weekend. No need for a 4x4 to get out to the huts. HH
