  1. Barry's post of his dog got me thinkin that many of us have man's best friend and it would be neat to see some of your dogs. Here's a pic of "Maggie", Great Pyrenees we rescued in September after our 15 year old white Lab passed away. Maggie is very affectionate, but also quite nuts! Pic is of Maggie sitting on my son's girl friend. Yah, shes a big dog! HH
  2. That looks like a Pyrenees to me. Mine does the same thing! HH
  3. Gerritts Batter As crispy as they come. 3/4 cups Flour 1/4 Corn Starch 2 Tsp. Baking Power 2 Tsp Salt 1 Cup water. Gerritt.
  4. @Big Cliff your recipe reminded me of something we did on a fly in a few years back. Chunked up the fillets and marinated them in Franks over night. Wrapped in bacon and grilled on the BBQ. A few drops of Franks while they cooked. HH
  5. Just an FYI for those who may be interested... The bibs are on sale for $149 from $269 and the jacket is on for $149 from $199. Couldn't pass up the savings. If I don't like what they send me, I'll just send it back and keep looking. I have until May 24 before I need it. HH
  6. Thanks to all that replied! I just ordered the Cabelas Xtreme Jacket and Bib, both on sale right now! Thanks Bill! Barry, I checked out that site, but the offerings don't seem much better than what I have, thanks for your consideration. Crowman, thanks for this! Just a bit late though, but good info for the next person asking! HH
  7. After many years of abuse, my Costco special rain suit just aint cutting it anymore. I've seen suits prices from rally cheap all the way to are you freakin kidding me! I am hoping to avoid the "are you freakin kiding me" price range, but am open to pricing based on quality. At my age, this will likely be my last rain suit. All help is appreciated! HH
  8. Really diggin this guitar player! If you do play guitar and this is not your kind of music, hang in there for the guitar solo... HH
  9. Saw my first Robin yesterday. He looked pissed off! HH
  10. Might want to consider oiling up those bunks and rollers... HH
  11. Yah, i noticed that as well when i was in their a few weeks ago for the first time in over a decade. F5 Rap at $15.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HH
  12. Fish Crisp display in front of the tank... HH
  13. I was up there on the weekend. We had to weed our way through a lot of smaller fish, with two keepers and one over the slot. Jig and minnow, hook the minnow in the tail and let it swim. The fish were coming in waves, so be prepared to wait for them for a bit between waves. Time of day didn't seem to really matter. If I were going up, I would do my best to get away from the other huts and look for 15 to 25 ft of water under the ice. There is plenty of ice and the ice roads were perfect on the weekend. No need for a 4x4 to get out to the huts. HH
  14. Brian, I'm guessing you have heard this cover of Simple Man... simply inspiring! HH
  15. Mechanics are going to end up being like today's TV repair man. Making house calls and swapping out boards. HH
  16. I have a 7 day camping/fishing trip planner for early June. We've done this trip a number of times and it's a ton of fun. That said, one thing we do struggle with is bringing enough water with us, while being able to get our boats on plain as we are typically over-loaded on our 17 mile trip to our island camp site. I've been thinking that we could eliminate a lot of weight, if we didn't have to bring enough water for 6 guys for a week with us. I've been eye balling the various offerings in this realm and would like to get some experienced suggestions as to what you have used and how well it performs. I've seen this on the Sail site as an example of the kind of thing I am looking for. https://www.sail.ca/en/lifestraw-peak-series-gravity-filter-system-3-l-833663-21-078680001 Many thanks in advance. HH
  17. Just added this song the my band's play list. We needed something a little slower to give the dance floor folks a bit of a breather! LOL HH

  19. If you watch the 60 Minutes expose I posted earlier in the thread, you would have seen that Fusion is still very far away from being useful. There was a big guffuffal about having generated a split second of power in the lab and claiming that the reaction generated more energy then the lasers put in. What was not talked about on the news was how much energy they had to produce, to get enough power to drive the lasers. 300 units to get one unit back. That aint very efficient! HH
