I'm Agonizing Over This Boat Buying Decision

Does that include a trailer? If so that is an incredibly good deal. I was quoted more than that for a 14.5' Resorter in 2009. -
It looks like it has more than four lures on it. A version with no more than four hooks should be legal.

I'm Agonizing Over This Boat Buying Decision

It is located in Canada; it is American owned. They are part of Brunswick which owns Mercury outboards, Lund, Crestlines, Lowe, among other companies. I own a 2011 Princecraft Holiday DLX SC (I think it is the same hull with a side console) and it is a soldi boat. It handles the rough water quite well but could use more storage. By the way does the $13,500 include freight and rigging, etc.? Boats are like cars... they tack a whole lot of extra charges on to the sales price; and that is before they add the taxes. A new boat in the size range would usually have about $1,500 for freight and rigging with taxes on the total. Make sure you factor that in to your budget. -
Thanks for all the tips guys. I think I will be taking it back to the store. I tried removing the remote; that helped a little. Without the remote it seems okay if I use just the light, but if I turn the fan on full the light will shut off.

I have Vista and I haven't had that problem yet. I don't get a lot of PMs but I responded to one today. I still agree with Vista being a piece of crap though.

It didn't give me a problem when I tested if after installing it. However it hasn't worked properly since the first day. It does sometimes work for a few minutes so it may have just been a co-incidence that it worked when I first installed it. I grounded to the support bracket which is metal and it bolted to the electrical box. I will try grounding directly to the box or the incoming copper. Actually, I think the limiter is in the fan itself; not the light kit. The light kit contains one halogen bulb that was supplied with the light. I think it is 100w. Thanks for the tips; I will see if I can get it working tomorrow morning.

Usually it turns off in 1/2 a second again. Sometimes I can get it to stay on for a few minutes; usually when the light hasn't been on for a while. But it usually just comes on for a fraction of a second.

I recently installed a ceiling fan. It has remote control and lights. The light kit and remote control are options sold separately. I am having problems with the light shutting off immediately. If I turn the light on the light comes on for about a 1/2 second and then turns off. It will not come back until I reset it by turning the power to the light on and off via the pull chain. (Since the hand held remote is an option the fan still has pull chains to control the functions) I read that the fan has a limiter that automatically shuts the light off if total wattage exceeds 190. I suspect that this is the culprit to my problem. I am using the bulb supplied with the fan so I don't think that it is actually exceeding 190 watts. I think the wattage limiter is faulty and is cutting power to the light. Does this sound correct? Are faulty limiters are common problem? Is there anything else that I can trouble shoot before I return it to the store? A second possibillity is the remote control. Is it worth re-wiring the fan without remote control; or, can I be reasonably certain that it is the wattage limiter.

Thanks, good idea. Depending on your lure collection you could also consider using a mixture of different sizes of downspout or PVC piping.

The third picture does not strike me as a good idea.

Looks well fed... I guess bait fish are plentiful on Great Slave.
-
I wouldn't consider Lake of the Woods to be in southern Ontario. As per the artical the population probably expanded eastward into the Great Lakes region; they may very well have native to LOTW.
-
What kind of fishing do you do? It looks like it would make a good big water trolling boat; and a good family boat too. If you primarily fish the shallows for bass than I would look for a different style. p.s. I was happy with my Suzuki that I had from 1994 - 2009. My brother-in-law has it now; it stills runs despite the fact that it sank.

In absolute dollars it is higher than in the early eighties. However, if you adjust for inflation it is no where near where it was in the early eighties. I remember gold being over $1,000 /oz around 1980; it is about $1,600 /oz now... $1,000 bought a whole lot more in 1980 than $1,600 will buy you today.

The women was from Australia, but it happened in Zimbabwe. -
Do you mean they were native to Lake Simcoe? Rainbow are a west coast fish; all populations of rainbow/steehead in eastern North America are introduced. It is possible that there is, or was self sustaining populations from fish stocked long ago.

Agreed, if power loading was the issue then all brands should have problems with cracked hulls. Tracker seems to be only brand where cracked hulls are a common problem. Are Tracker owners the only ones who power load?
-
There is a reason why Tracker boats are nick named cracker boats. Look at what the Marinas have in stock right now. I purchased a Princecraft Holiday 16' with 84" beam for less than another marina wanted for a 14.5' Resorter. Mine was a 2008 model purchased in the fall of 2009. Check out some places and you might get lucky.

Did anyone happen to notice if Sail had a selection of Coleman stoves? Preferably the Oshawa store. I am looking for an old school Coleman double burner stove. Liquid fuel... none of this propane or electronic ignition stuff. I checked Sail's web site and didn't see any Coleman products at all. I have heard that they do carry Coleman products in the store. I am interested in seeing the store but don't want to make the drive if they done have what I am looking for.

Don't forget to vote every day. Thank's for your support so far. We still need your continued support to get us into the top ten.

I'll put your name on one when I drop by the hatchery. When it gets a little bigger I'll feed it some buffalo wings... maybe that'll help.

Thanks for all the votes in the last round. Ringwood has made it to the semi finals. Another round of voting has started. If you support Ringwood Hatchery, especially the coho program. Please take a bit of time and cast your vote. http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf11597#.ToW-2

Not a chance. Two strokes put out more torque than four strokes. That is one of the main selling points of a two stroke engine.

There is a flea market in Pickering. I am not sure if it will have what you are looking for though.
