  1. Well, what can one say. Doh! Man was it cold. I was tough enough to brave the elements though. We got there around 12:30 and the open hole on the ice was gleaming back at us. I didn't let it bother me, I figured it be best to acclimatize to the surroundings. So, I decided to just hang around with my swim shorts, boots and hat on. Only wimps wear coats in the winter! Cupcake and myself along with everyones generous contributions, raised $1500.00 on the nose. A great start to our Chapter raising funds for the KTD signs! I wish to thank everyone for contributing. Just remember, (Tom, are you listening?) WE WON"T BE DOING THIS AGAIN! Cheers, Ron...
  2. Have fun out there Big Cliff.
  3. Good to hear you are back and in fine form Rick. There is nothing worse than withdrawals from the INTERNET. I do hope you are feeling much better.
  4. http://www.coghlans.com/catalogue/productList.php?catID=5 I have used this type for several years. Work great as far as I'm concerned. I lit up both ends in the truck let it stay open for a few minutes while I finish loading up the boat. Stuff em in my breast pockets and when my fingers got numb from casting, My pockets were always toasty.
  5. Bout time TonyB showed you everything he knows about Lakers and Whities! Nice catch guys, I have yet to get out for Lakers and Whities on Simcoe.
  6. JOEY!!! Shhh, there are no fish in Temagami. Didn't you know that! Nice to see pictures of Wayne and Leah's Chalet, unfortunately this will be the only way I will see it this year. Looks like you had a great time up there, no doubt with hosts like Leah.... I guess that goes for Wayne too. Wayne, you're into those Fruit Loops eh? ha ha ha
  7. Unfortunately, I will be working at the Spring Fishing Show.
  8. Can't beat a Seizure with a natural ice sickle off the roof top for a swizzle. If Ice sickles aren't available, you can always spud some cubes up off the lake. Second choice is a fishermans Coffee - 4 oz coffee, 2 oz Baileys, 2 oz Jack Daniels. Silver Bullets - Tequila and Peppermint Schnapps There's a story behind each one of them there drinks.
  9. Some vehicles have an additional fuse block under the hood. In this fuse block you will also have fuses which run you trailer wiring. Get your owners manual out.....
  10. Don't worry about the dang propane tank Geoff. Get yer arse to Cobourg so we can open the MCI account!
  11. Another theory you can add to this equation is: If the largest of the species are harvested, the successors of the breed are maturing at a much younger age therefore creating no competition for "survival of the fittest".
  12. :clapping: If that don't work, assuming it's a 2 stage blower. With the engine turned off, leave in gear. Start it on the ramps and engage the clutch (left hand lever on my model) lightly to create drag and if you want press firmly on the lever and it will stop dead on the ramp.
  13. Dang Ron, that's a shame we didn't bump into you two. Haven't seen you or cupcake for a long spell now. How about a PM next time you're heading up there bud, we'll come knocking Joey Will do Joey, hitting Quinte this weekend, first time in years. What I said to Joey Hey Wayne, it was a misunderstanding on my part. I thought you guys were down for the weekend, not just for the day. I called Lloyd up to see where you guys were going for diner and I was gonna meet up with you and Terry then. my bad, I fell like an
  14. You were so close to us Sunday, you could have hit us with a snowball! Never you guys were out there, nor did you know we were. That is Cupcakes blue clam over your shoulder. My hut is hidden by your beautiful mug.
  15. Did this truck go through the ice in the Kawarthas? I think not.
  16. Looks like Holiday Pines to me. If it is, that is the mouth of the rive on the East end of Rice Lake. We used to have a cottage there, (Ashphedol Park). We went knee boarding on New Years Day a few moons ago in that area.
  17. I know someone who was proudly showing off his new digital camera when it slipped out of his hands and bounced on the floor of the ice bungaloo until it found the hole. Man, I wished I had the camera in my hand when that happened! The look on his face was priceless! The best part though was, talking about it the next morning to the other guys how Roy lost his brand new camera down that (pointing) hole when out of the corner of my eye, I see the camera just underneath the hut. Somehow it managed to hit the side of the hut hole and bounced up onto the ice! Lucky man! Buddy lost his rod on a fish, I set the hook on a fish about 15 minutes later, land a 5-6 lb walleye with a second lure in it's yap. Line was still attached and pulled in my buddy's rod. The weird part was he wanted to claim the fish because he hooked into it first! ha ha ha
  18. Good to see you guys again. Short lived though as we decided to move to another area. Seemed like the fish were there, only they weren't interseted in biting. On our other spot I managed to put 1 laker, 2 white fish, 1 walleye and a rock bass on the ice. We stayed out for the night bite but only got one more whitie.
  19. I may just see you guys on Friday!
  20. Sorry I can't resist..... And people think BPS service is terrible! ha ha ha
  21. Tough thing to swallow Tom. So sorry to hear.
  22. I have always enjoyed my experience there. Sure they may be out of stock on items, but if you buy your stuff a season in advance, just like any store, it's in stock then. I have always found the prices reasonable. Living an hour East of TO. I still get up there about once every month or 2. I already stocked up on my ice fishing gear....back in November. Come February, I'll be replenishing my pan fishing gear for open water in the Spring. March or April I will be in there again looking to see what they got for that "must have" Muskie tackle and such. Prices are great as far as I'm concerned, I don't need to go around to a kazillion stores to save a buck on this and that. As for supporting my local tackle shops... an hour East of Toronto doesn't have any local tackle shops. The best reason for visiting BPS though is to see guys like Roger, just like any business, there are guys who enjoy going to work, who love their job. The fishing department certainly has enough of these guys.
  23. Nice! but the personalized name is wrong, shouldn't it be "Big Chief"? (Don't make me dig out the picture Paul)..... ha ha ha Cheers, Ron...
  24. In my neck of the woods, I had to order mine through Rona. They can special order that no problem.
  25. Hey Mike, I used the X 135 from my boat, works awesome/ What I like about it mostly is you don't get "Vex eyes". It's nice to be able to take your eyes off the screen, better yet, I can set the alarm on it and have a siesta and let the fish tell me when it's time to get up!
