  1. Well I got out again yesterday to the parents and went for the carp again. I had the line in the water around 2:30 and by 3pm I had a fish on I knew it was a good one to as it nearly took all my line off the spool in the first run, I managed to keep it in before getting to the end of my line thank god. Well after that he didn't fight to good so I was sure how big he was until I got him near shore and then again there he goes not the whole line but a good amount after that fight he was tired out I think and came in fairly easy but it was a monster(at least to me). I have been carp fishing two times and this being the second in the 2 days of targeting them I have landed my PB carp lol, not only is he my personal best but the biggest fish I have ever caught. Got the heart going really good but well worth it in my eyes. Heres a pic of the monster that was 37.5 inches long and 28.13 lbs. That doesn't really show the true size of the fish so here is another 2 pictures. All in all it was a slower day then the first that being the only one I caught, I had 3 on one snapped the line on the leader and the other just got off. I know they are Ugly looking and invasive but well worth fishing for them they give a darn good fight. Hope I will have a bigger one and some more pics soon. Chris.
  2. I'm with TD on my insurance and we got a great deal. It was actually the cheapest by almost 50 bucks. I was told by a friend who went through them as well. Bummer that you were getting messed around with and glad to hear your saving that much and you got a bit extra now.
  3. Thanks Roy. I will have bigger and I mean bigger and better then any of those posted tomorrow. I don't know what happened to the other post between myself and Fish'n freak but if they were blocked thank you I would rather that then this go bad I posted as I was happy with my day fishing. Chris
  4. Thanks Leechman
  5. Thanks everyone, as for the 33" that's awesome lol. Just means I will try harder today to beat that I am heading back up for some more carp tonight. My heart was alright tackling the carp thank god, I am lucky for that. My job was alot more physical I was lifting over 40 000 lbs in a 8 hour day. But hope I get a monster over 33" inches and and water should be calm maybe some walleye tonight. Chris
  6. Oh yea The tournament leader for carp right now is 26 so mine will add some and your pike as well bfisher. And thanks. Mercman yea they were awesome fighting thats forsure had a great day better then I would have thought fishing for carp thanks and hope I will have some more I'm going again tomorrow and friday was hoping to get some walleye but water is still to rough out there to bother testing. Maybe tomorrow or friday but I don't mind catching 50+ lbs in 5 fish they are a great fight.
  7. Well I got off the day to a bit of a crappy start today, I had a appointment with my Cardiolagist and after wearing a loop monitor for 2 weeks and the other office having the results for over a week and a half, I was told today that they can't really determine what the problem is forsure as they haven't sent the results from the loop monitor yet lol. So back I go in another 2 weeks and hope that they know or have an idea, it looks like my good job with full benefits is something I won't be able to go back to as it's to much for my heart to handle. Kind of a bummer first time my heart problems have held me back but oh well life goes on I can still fish. That is just what I did to. I stopped at Bills Bait and with the great service there I was lead in the right direction, I was set up with everything I need and stuff that worked. He gave me all the help I needed and it worked, I got to the lake at my parents around 2:30pm and had my line wet by 2:45pm. Well after about a hour and a half and a few misses FISH ON. I got him in and he was a nice 30" carp weighted 12.10 lbs. After getting my line set back up and ready I throw it in and within another 15 mins WHAM another one takes, it was around the 30" range but it was a 11.10 lbs Carp needless to say another great fight. Well I got the line ready again and in it goes I landed another 1 about half an hour later and it was 28" and 12.5 lbs. I did the same set up the line in it goes but didn't have and hit for over an hour, I wasn't done though as I could see them jumping around like crazy so I knew they were there and it was enough to keep my patience going. well it payed off all of a sudden without any warning on the rod Whack this thing just started ripping line by far the best fight I had of the day it was about 31.5" and 16.4 lbs it was awesome I tie the line again to make sure of any week spots and back in it goes well not even 20 mins later another one and it was another great fight. I finally got him in and it was a beauty 32" and 16.14 lbs. I'll save you the pics off the others in between but heres the picture of the fight and the fish. Setting the hook Fighting it near the water And then the results All in all it was a great day in the end I landed 5 for 7 and it was my first time targeting carp. Thanks to the guy a Bills Bait with out his help I doubt I would have had the luck I did. I will continue to go for the carp as they are a great fight not the nicest looking fish but they are growing on me lol. This should also help my team lol. GO TEAM 10. Chris
  8. I know it's not up north or anything but there is always Port Dover you can rent cabins or cottages along the beach and they are nice the beach is great and always things to do plus the fishing is always great on Lake Erie there is even Turkey Point another nice spot. Like I said though it's nothing like up north but it's a cool town and good fishing down there you can even catch plenty of good perch of the pier. Kids will love it and as well the parents nice resturaunts for a night plus anything you may need for a nice dinner.
  9. If you read GBW post it's not his dog so ripping on him for trying to help his neighbors find a good home then you look like an . Not everyone can teach a dog or pet to be perfect it's like saying you can teach the criminals to be good they do what they do because they want to and some people may have other things or reasons for not being able to work with it at this time. I don't think that it's a bad idea asking on here either your making it sound like OFC'ers have no brains or care for animals by saying don't ask them here.
  10. If you are talking about the Kawarthas as in Zone 17 no it's not until the 2nd saturday in May. Zone 15 3rd sat in may and all others around are 2nd sat in may. The 7th is ony the first sat so I'm sure it's as I said.
  11. It all depends on where, check the regs I believe its the 2nd saturday in May but make sure with your regs because that area has a ton of sanctuaries and are closed until like the 4th saturday in May, go check it out before fishing because all along the Otonabee there are sanctuaries, and a bunch of lakes have no fishing in this time just make sure so your not fishing a sanctuary.
  12. Great report and great pics.
  13. Mepps Aglia Long #3 is a fall to for when nothing else is working and there are plenty others that I love, tube jigs, yum dingers, Chug bug for top water. There are to many all have there times that are very productive and another isn't also depends on Smallie or Large but there are to many for me to name off lol. Also Square bill crankbaits are great.
  14. Yea the weight all depends on the water conditions if its choppy you may want more so you can feel it but the biggest question is line I know when I'm drop shottin for bass my friends will put on what I have and try the same patterns and nothing cause there line is thicker they still get some but make sure on the line more then anything. Well other then bait that is.
  15. Well get the measurements and tell her everywhere is out of wood lol and you have to wait 1 week for it then when the weeks over tell her the are still waiting lol. I know it's a bit far out there but hope she doesn't know about wood.
  16. Great report and nice pike. I'll be up in the peterborough area doing some fishing soon hopefully with some success.
  17. Hey those are some nice pics looks like some beautiful land you got around you. Nice fish as well and yea those Lamprey are a pain in the:asshat:.
  18. Next I just need to get a rainbow lol.
  19. Hey that's awesome I look forward to watching it. He sure does seem like a good guy and I like how he goes out with a local fisherman and experience what that average fisherman does.
  20. Oh that's awesome I am glad to hear that so I can still use them. I'm not to worried I have no reason to lie. But that is a good thing to have incase of someone trying to and as for the paper being wrinkled I tried printing off the logo but it kept cutting the sides of so I couldn't get one good enough but I will keep tickering with it and get one alminated so that I don't have to worry but I'm sure as I just joined in february 2011 you guys know it wasn't caught a few years ago lol. Thanks for the help Wayne I appreciate it you have been more then helpful with me. Chris
  21. Hey great report as well great pics. Also it's great to hear you got over your battle and are back out fishing. Chris
  22. lol right on. Thanks for informing me I guess I should read a bit better. I didn't take a picture of the laker measurements as I thought that it was the biggest fish of all but I will be out again trying for more soon and hopefully catching bigger ones although I don;t think I will catch any more lakers there as that was probably just a lost one lol but who knows I could still get some. Chris
  23. Yea I'm really enjoying it. I have had some awesome days out and it's been taking the edge off of waiting for bass season I don't think I want this to end lol. Thanks Chris
  24. I checked it doesn't count any way the other team has a bigger lake trout but I will keep trying.
  25. Hey Everyone, well I got out today again for some trout I ended up meeting up with Miller and we fished for most of the day and wasn't a bad day at all the rain held of and water conditions were great. We were there for about an hour and we were watching a boat trolling by infront of us and they hooked on to one and we started to get a bit excited and then they got another not even a couple mins after. Well not to long after that Miller hooked into a real nice brown it was a real nice one to. Well we kept casting and we were getting hits pretty often and then WAM I had a hell of a hit and I didn't know what I had as the thing wouldn't come up and jump well finally I got it to the pier and I caught my first Lake Trout. It was 27" and 7.4lbs. We continued to fish all day with nothing but hits and no takers until Miller had a monster Brown take his line and got him to about 8 feet from the pier and the thing was huge after he jumped a few times he got off, it was a bummer forsure but we both seen him and he wasn't a baby thats forsure but hopefully tomorrow will be another good day. Here is a couple pictures of my Lake Trout and Miller will be posting his on this post after.
