  6. Geez! Wicked report! Thanks I wanna eat those so bad. Is it just me or does their meat look like candy?
  7. I've used a similar knife slabbing. Not sure why nobody else has? It's similar to an electric blade. Nice technique! Not my way but everyone has their own methods? Ps. Mmmmmm walleye cheeks!!!!
  8. Im in a walleye derby on the weekend. Water levels/temps are primo! Gonna be Alot of fun!!! Hoping I can win it for the 3rd time in the last 6 years, but 3 big local pros are entered again and im pretty sure they wanna whip my but! ???
  9. Win the lottery? Nice collection!!!
  10. Great report! Looks like a very nice area for a family retreat! I bet those Lakers were a hoot trolling! Never tried it before
  11. Goeff, I use top waters for walleye in spring fall. All shallow. One thing ill say is from shore, cast the edges. Casting straight out will likely be naddas Lotsa walleye sit in a foot or two of water this time of year. Black Zara spooks and the jr model are my go too. I know it's too late, just for future reference
  12. Use the right line and drag, shouldn't be an issue for walleye
  13. Welcome aboard!!!
  14. Sweet! As if ya didn't bring your rod to catch a whale lol Looks like a beautiful place to visit!!!
  15. You'll find out soon hahahaha! I'd imagine it's just like everything else ya pay for. My higher end st. Croix rods are amazing, same with my shimano rods, but two of my staples are a Berkley lightening rod that was maybe $50 and a Shakespeare rod from Walmart that I think was even cheaper???
  16. Nice! Loved the walleye at the end as well! Great shooting Simon!
  17. Get to it! Easily one of my favourites! Nice going man!!!
  18. I hear ya! But it happens. Just do your best to avoid and minimize it Happens to the best of us
  19. You are correct! Obviously there is a few variables. But that hook is NOT rusting out before a fish shakes it. Even northland jigs will last a long time and their hooks suck. I think they are gammies but I could be wrong? Just outta curiosity I grab some hooks and river water and see how long before they disintegrate. My guess is 4 years
  20. Absolutely! "Hit it hard, then go find it. Hit it hard again" Hahah love it!
  21. I wouldn't worry. Esox (pike and musky) are wicked good at shaking hooks I'm not sure how they do it? But aI betcha that spinner was out within a day
  22. Arnold was the first "superstar" IMO And boy did he do it with class!!! Gonna miss seeing him at the masters
  23. Awesome Simon! We do ours end of July. Its only been 6 years but it's stuck for good. Our crew is pretty big too so yeah we push it on the boat too. I'm not making 6 trips into mainville lol One load of people, one load of camping gear and a few more people hahaha Simon is turning into quite the established outdoorsman!!!! I bet alot of his friends are jelous!!!
  24. I know that feeling too well Dutch! I consider myself very lucky to have 2 wicked shore spots in my backyard. Because sometimes that "pull" comes when im very busy, and because of these spots, I can still get out for an hour or two. Heck sometimes ill go all day, or 4 times a day. This time of year is amazing!
  25. Oh smack that guy. Almost every freshwater fish is "good" deep fried. Cook cod and enjoy its taste. Dont fry it!!!
