  1. just got her back from Paul @ Ravencraft, top notch quality as usual. I'm not affiliated with them in any way but their work is impeccable. Paul did a ratchet system for me as I don't want to do buttons on a fibreglass hull. There's two small ratchets on each side of the back of the boat with a small pouch holding each of them. Three vents with individual support, openings for fender buoys/docking rope. Reinforced at high stress area such as windshield, gas cap and trolling motor. I'm using the top gun material again as I have had good experiences with it.
  2. I just winterized my boat and put it into an off site indoor storage. To ward off moisture, I put a few of those starbrite moisture trap thingy As for the little pest that would like to call my boat their home, I'm using grated Irish Spring Original Soap under the recommendation from a Marina. What do you use to make sure little animals stay away? mothballs? Bounce Dryer sheets? Irish Spring?
  3. since I upgraded to a 3 bank charger on my boat, I just take all the batteries out and hook up two of them to the old 2 bank at home and the other one to a battery tender. Just going to leave them connected for the whole winter
  4. unit is OK.. but I don't like using it when wearing polarized sunglasses
  5. They r so so. On the lower end spectrum, go with sjimano
  6. I'm probably going to get a nice deal on the seats .. I can tell you already that the whole set of seats cost less than just the seat skin from Ranger
  7. white on blue boat eh.. hmm..
  8. Go to bbcboards and look at their restoration section
  9. the whole bench is one piece. The only thing that can be 'removed' easily is the cushion in the middle and it can be removed and flipped upside down like you saw in the pics
  10. That's just for a friend
  11. you might want to get into a group guy that simply tire is hosting right now, those guys have great product knowledge and service.
  12. So after I sold my Monark to a buddy, I was looking for a new to me boat again. So I went from a 14ft aluminum tiller to a Ranger R61 to a Monark King 160SC and now I'm back with a Ranger R61 Jackie found this boat for me and went down to the US with me to pick it up (third boat from the US), the only difference is I'm towing my own boat this time The owner was originally reluctant to sell but after a month of phone calls, I finally got my hands on her. The price was right so I didn't ask for a single dollar of discount off this baby. Boat rides really nice, the 90hp ELPTO pulls hard (pulls even harder than Jackie's R61 w/ 115 Optimax & Jack Plate) Boat comes with a 70lb maxxum already so I saved quite a bit of money as I won't need to upgrade the trolling motor. The trailer fenders are recently redone and powder coated, there are new alloy/aluminum wheels on the trailer as well. I got two 858C Di and a ProMariner Pro Sport Plus 3 bank charger. Installed a float switch to the bilge and the boat is almost done. Just need to order a deck extension, do some cleaning, get a new custom cover done, install a water pressure gauge and that's pretty much it. The only quirk with the boat is the torn seats, I'm debating whether to buy new seats or to re-upholster. If I'm going for new seats, I'm deciding between these four. Getting a skin from Ranger is probably out of the question as Ranger wants more than what a new set of seats would cost for just the skin. Suggestions would be appreciated.
  13. if you think that's fast
  14. keep it, it's not worth selling considering how Tackle Warehouse just blew out the new Fuegos for cheap and just botched the market... if you really insist on selling it, you're looking @ around $75

  17. So I was @ Scugog today and I went down towards the 7A direction from Scugog Island Marina and there's a series of signs that says "private property, no trespassing" the signs are on the lake itself. What are the legal implications of these signs and anyone know what's going on?

  20. all gone, but I'm toying with the idea to get a Core 101MG and get some Chronarch D7 gears in there
  21. I don't know where you got the plastic and China idea from the drag star is plastic, but it doesn't affect the build quality at all. In fact, most of the components of the reel are still aluminum. the reel is made in Japan they change the location of the drag star to allow the handle to be closer to the gear case hence a more effective transfer of torque
  22. SAIL has always been go to me. Staff there are friendly and helpful. Their 50% off clothing sale right now is amazing. They also have the best prices on fishing electronics when they have the no tax events.
  23. I strictly do baitcasters at this moment.. a full reel service from me is a bit different than Aikmans.. all the following are done when I do a full service of a reel: disassembly of the entire reel degrease everything flush and inspect bearings ultrasonic cleaning oil/re-lube bearings and gears reassembly
  24. I would pimp your reel out as well... no seriously, I have some guys who already contacted me for some winter project ideas...
