  1. Hi guys, I am leaving for Restoule Thursday morning. I have been at this park before and the bass fishing was pretty good, but I didn't get any walleye (didn't specifically target them). I have never caught a walleye and would like some general tips. We're bulking up on leeches. I've heard of these fish being active at night, is this right after sunset or later in the night?
  2. Thanks for the review. We found some sites at Bonnechere at a different date though, so mabey some other time.
  3. Anyone ever been to either of these in the Sudbury area? Main interest is fishing. Would rather go to Bonnechere but it is unfortunately full for the August civic holiday.
  4. Lol, I'm talking about Rockwood Conservation Area, and Richmond's description fits it pretty well. This is a mother's day picnic thing so I won't really have time to be canoeing (maybe for a future excursion).
  5. Hi guys, I've been to rockwood when I was younger and all I've really caught were bullhead and tiny rock bass. I've read on their site that there are carp. Is it worth it to try for carp, or would my time better be spent cycling?
  6. Lol, I hope this wasn't directed at me, because that's what I was pointing out.
  7. Erm no, just that I always hear the "they're doing it for the grant money!" so if that's what you got from my statement, then it seems from your logic that scientist getting grant money = conclusive proof that it doesn't. But anyways, there is lots of evidence linking the Eocene Thermal Maximum, the warmest point in time ever, with one of the highest atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations. It was over a relatively short period of time, ~1,000 years, which lead to a mass extinction, but the problem is that at current rates human beings will reach that threshold much sooner, having obvious implications on the biosphere as well as climate, weather, etc. And whenever people bash ice core samples, they should back it up on why they're not dependable, as it is based on oxygen isotope proportions (similar to how we dependably use radiocarbon dating), and there are other techniques used. Also, there is the fact that there is an international consensus in the scientific community the global warming is real (global climate change for those of you who randomly point out how cold it is in other regions), based on collection objective data, and I hardly doubt that ALL of them are in it for the grant money. EDIT: Also wanted to point out that 4.5 billion years is a moot point when considering how dynamic it has been over the course of the earth's age.
  8. Yeah, because who has more to gain, a scientist after grant money or the billionaires in oil companies?
  9. I caught some huge rock bass at Bonnechere and they tasted pretty good when eaten alone, but were very mushy and crap when eaten alongside a perch.
  10. Too gimmicky, but I think it would be cool if you were in a foreign country, and it would translate the dialect for you into subtitles.
  11. The Stormy launch is pretty busy, so I wouldn't worry too much about funny business.
  12. For $100 I can forge you some Native American ID
  13. Meat is very mushy and lots of small bones, but I heard that people pickle them.
  14. Heh, I was on the other side of the city and also fell into the water.
  15. I welcome our new fish neighbours. We're obviously the #1 species on land and it's time we acquainted ourselves with other winners.
  16. I'm inclined to agree. When you're dealing with limited fishing areas surrounded by millions of people, the last thing you want is the areas you worked hard to find to be encroached on by arm chair fishermen, and those who for some reason live off dirty toronto fish. No problem to provide a few general starting points (nothing secret about the islands) but keep the specifics to yourself.
  17. The government runs off,OFC,fot,osf,
  18. do you enjoy long walks on the beach?
  19. Very nice, I love kayak fishing. Where did you win it?
  20. Can anyone recommend any reputable ebay sellers with cheap shipping (preferably Canadian?)
