  1. Hey guys, how do you distinguish between a salmon full of eggs and one with no eggs/a male?
  2. nice pike
  3. Putting the dying fish back into the stream atleast provides nutrients for the ecosystem.
  4. Avoid, they use stolen credit cards
  5. I was wondering if the parks tore has any worms. I'm doubting they have leeches, any nearby places to buy some? And any tips on the walleye would be appreciated.
  6. Not sure, I'm heading up there next Thursday for a week and any advice on how to target the walleye would be great.
  7. I used to be 100% live bait, and since my dad is a live bait guy and a good portion of my fishing (and all outside of Toronto) is done with him I'll just use what he's using. However, there are some holes where I find certain species to go after artificial more than worms. So far I've caught crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, rockbass, and pike on artificials, and it's really this year that I've decided to stick to them, especially since it's a bit difficult to bring minnows on the TTC and you can cover a lot of water as a shore angler. Use spoons and mepps in the spring for pike and you will have success, just a simple retrieve is all you need. I've also found the little gulp minnows (1 inch) pretty good when the fish were more lethargic and refusing my other artificials, but it's a pain in the ass since the container isn't exactly leak proof. Definitely on my list this year is salmon, as I've only hooked into them on roe.
  8. 6.5
  9. I kind of prefer the bigger ones since I absolutely hate playing around with the smaller bones when trying to eat it, but the only time I ever eat a fish is when I'm 4 hours up north.
  10. Wind has unlimited data and calling for $45 with no contracts, but I don't think they service your area.
  11. The one on Jane (proline taxidermy) is fairly expensive. Anyone know of a cheaper tackle store in Etobicoke? There is also this one called Pagonis, $2 for a dozen worms, its more of an office setting than a tackle shop. According to their site they also sell larvae, roe, leeches, and crickets, all with the option of buying bulk.
  12. The more humane thing would've been to give them to a pet store.
  13. Apparently there was a huge die off this winter. And I have fished those ponds before, the ones I have caught have been fairly small.
  14. I have been out 4 times for carp this year, and on each outing I have been skunked. And whenever I am there, someone else always manages to pull one out. I have been mainly using corn on hair rig and jumbo maize. I have noticed a few times that my rod tip was tapping, but anytime I set the hook there is nothing there. What would you guys recommend doing for really murky water?
  15. heading up to restoule tomorrow for 6 days for the first time, will post a report when I get back

  16. Not what, but why.
  17. awesome report, qi have a question: I've seen the rockbass referred to as the WGSF, why?
  18. Thanks, I was only wondering if the little bend by the eye would kill any of the action or somehow mess up hook ups.
  19. 27 incher from Toronto this year: Plus all the other toronto pike from my reports. I was out fishing this year for the first time for pike in Toronto and was amazed. I had also caught a lot of crappie and a tiny oos largemouth but forgot to put my sd card back in my camera, but I'm heading down there today in hopes of catching a bass.
  20. Is it alright to use these hooks when wacky rigging, or do they work best when texas rigging?
  21. They don't work for me. How do you fish them? Do you jerk it or just retrieve it?
  22. I have the white one in my tacklebox but I've never tried it, great thread
