I always say,depends on your wants and needs. If you WANT to catch fish, then no. If you NEED to spend money, then yes. Dual beam however can be helpful depending on he depth. It really depends on how and where you fish.That will determine the need for sidescan or down imageing.IMO

thanks guys Its just right for what i need. She's a small boat, 16ft, so no big water for me.I did have her out on St Francis in 3 ft waves.It was interesting LOL.

You Know something? I am really proud of myself. I joined this board in 2010. I was a bit off the wall, had run ins with the Mods. got banned, got Qed, Fought to get back on,Got Qed again, and all for being silly and just a little "off the wall". But i never once flamed anyone, insulted anyone, publically humiliated anyone,belittled anyone. I Have grown and matured and think i am a good member here. I smashed my thumb with the hammer on friday, putting up nails in the garden shed for new garden tools. Saturday it was throbbing so bad, i got out my dremel with a diamond bit on it. Someone told me to drill a hole to let out the pressure.It worked, the blood spurt out, hit me in the eye, i dropped the dremel.It hit the maple kitchen table going 16000,did a pirouette in the wood and landed on the cushion floor where it carved a nice deisgn in it.

We spend hundreds and even thousands on fishing equipment every dang year.There is no way that can be fixed properly enough to risk ruining a days fishing. It may hold for a week or a month, but it WILL fail someday when you are counting on it the most. Buy a new one, and get fishing Cut the cable at the transducer,tape the new cable really good to the old one, and use the old cable like a fiche to route the new cable to its destination.

Ya have to take it out of the water, then let the glue dry before putting it back in the water. Silly little man
