  1. I'm kinda on the fence with the boat launches and fishing thing, I understand how they want to limit contact. But I just read a good comment on the fishing petition, one lady said that her husband fishes a lot during the year and they depend on the food that he brings home. There are a few good points in that petition also.
  2. I just dug a 25 by 20 foot hole 12 inches deep for a garage pad by hand, maybe I'll fill it with water and get some panfish LOL
  3. Gonna be a real rough summer if we can't at least go fishing to get away a little bit... I suppose it's what we have to do. I would have thought that would be good for social distancing, but I guess people will travel with their boat, meet at the launch and grab bait and food, so more spread.
  4. Wasn't that harsh of a winter at all, here in Innisfil we had some snow but many thaws. Maybe a handful of cold days. It seemed like we would have a really early and long ice season in November, it was skimmed over very early and guys were ice fishing the kawarthas in November, then we lost it all til after xmas.
  5. Shoreline pretty sketchy Innisfil beach side and down
  6. The economic impact of this will I think far out weight the stuff at the moment, it's gonna take years for the economy to get back on track.
  7. It was pretty old, but would always catch fish! especially up near Norland. Simcoe I use mostly the giant killer meeps. Canadian tire has the same ones but only up to number 4.
  8. There found a picture of it I took before I gave it to the guy lol! It was a number 6
  9. No, I use the Meeps Giant killer ones all the time with great success, but the Blue Fox brand worked really well also in 10-15 feet of water.
  10. I was wondering if anyone has seen the Perch Color In-Line spinners number 5 from blue fox. I had one for years and years that was amazing for pike, lent it to a buddy last fall and he proceeded to lose it fishing. I've been trying to find it ever since, I can find the smaller ones but not with the number 5 blades.
  11. I was out yesterday afternoon around the 7th line of innisfil, sketchy ice to me, 2 inches or so of soft ice that you broke through occasionally when walking on it and then maybe 2-3 inches of good ice underneath, I did not go out very far, little uncomfortable for me. Maybe another week, hopefully. What a crazy winter, it seemed like it would be a long winter in November.
  12. Bad flooding south of me in Belle Ewart.
  13. Raining hard in Innisfil, seemed like it would be a great winter in mid November.
  14. Wow, we are never going to get safe ice on Simcoe this year... darn
  15. Some of my best memorizes as a kid was at a Camp fire either with Beavers or Scouts, my dad was one of the leaders. I have fires regularly now with my son, it's great.
  16. I wouldn't really think its a great idea, its been fairly warm the past number of days, still open water as far as I can see at Innisfil Beach Rd.
  17. Merry Christmas to all! May all your fish be Lunkers!
  18. Every day the witch comes out with some sort of tax increase for us! yay!..... ugh.... also a 4 cent increase in the tax on gas. Won't it be great when we all have to go back to using electric baseboard for heating our homes.
  19. It is true that they did nothing to push the trades in High School, which is very sad, there will be a huge shortage in a few years. If I wasn't an AV Technician I would have probably been an electrician or carpenter.
  20. I'll chime in on this, I live just south of Barrie in a decent 3 bedroom with a basement that was a foreclosure from the bank, had holes everywhere and smelt of cat piss lol, I was able to see past it and do the repairs myself. We bought a home in the area when we were 23, and have since sold and moved into here. I work in the GTA, Audio Visual Installer (corporate boardrooms, schools, meeting rooms, theatres). I live up here not only because I hate the city, but there's no way I could afford a regular home in the Toronto area, I don't understand it. 1 million dollar average home price, and I was reading a study that suggested that in a decade that will be close to 4 million for a regular run of the mill home. Insane! what do these people do to afford such homes? Isn't this how a housing market crash happens? And I certainly agree with everyone about young people now a days, and I'm turning 30 this fall! LOL! I am really scared for this world in the next few decades, no one actually wants to do any actual work anymore. Work with your hands people!
  21. I get a quote, but it all depends on how fast they work, and how much you squirm around, that would take them much longer, my last tattoo she was about 100 dollars under the quoted price.
  22. My wife and I honeymooned there 5 and a half years ago, fishing was pretty good, we had the dinner package, the food was amazing there! caught lots of small pike and one about 36 inchs, we were fairly late in the year in September. We didn't try for walleye. I would recommend the lodge.
