  1. Got out this evening around 7:00, searched around a bit and then at 7:30 got my first bite of the evening, 30 inch pike. In the next hour I landed 6 pike, 5 were around 30" and one was real nice 36"er. I also lost 2 more at the side of the boat and had a larger one follow. Certainly my best hour of pike fishing. Can't wait to get back out there and get another one over 40.
  2. I love catching pike, they are my target fish in the summer on Simcoe, bass a close second
  3. My biggest pike so far, 41.5 inches, was released. Can't wait to crack the 45 inch barrier
  4. I was cutting the grass and halfway through it started snowing! lol, finished in the snow. weird year so far...
  5. What a crazy long season Simon
  6. Great story! Nice laker!
  7. Thanks for the ideas.
  8. I recently was given an iPhone from work, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a good GPS navigation or wavepoint marker for the iPhone? Either free or not free
  9. I've got a bad feeling they might get swept by the yankees... then it's almost time to panic
  10. Nice going fish farmer, going to be nice out this weekend!
  11. Didnt last, damn,,,They have to have a comeback yet again.
  12. Well, except for the fact that they closed one launch, and the one that's open only has one side right now... there's also a lot less parking for trucks and trailers.
  13. that's crazy! I thought we had a long winter down here.
  14. My rule of thumb is I won't go out in anything more then a 15km north or south wind, or a 20km east or west wind on Cooks. Just not worth it for a few fish. I've had some scary trips going back across in high winds.
  15. Better weather at the Perch Fest today in Orillia, caught some nice keepers but not tagged for me yet this year, had one last year. I also caught what has to be the Tinniest Perch ever!
  16. Well..... that was brutal! snowing pretty much all day and cold winds, bite was slow we kept about 15. Maybe a dozen boats out there
  17. wow, such a long winter... we have a couple cm's in the forecast for this area, I like winter and all but I don't envy you one bit.
  18. Going to be a cold day tomorrow with snow and wind, ah well... at least we're fishing!
  19. Yeah I was amazed, didn't think I was going to be able to take the boat out for a run before Perch Fest
  20. Cooks bay is wide open now, amazing how fast the ice dissipates
  21. I was working in Quebec all week, and had to drive home yesterday morning, Ottawa was bad but the rest of the 6 hour trip was mostly rain, but you could see the ice on the trees all the way to Barrie area.
  22. Wonderful... Let's hope for some warm weather this week!
  23. Another inch of snow on the ground this morning and still falling, even I'm getting sick of winter... Want to take the boat out!
  24. Got off early from work, so I decided to take a walk out onto Cooks by Lefroy. Setting up the portable was like flying a kite, drilled a hole there was a good 14 inches of ice. Dropped a minnow down and within seconds got one. For 2 hours it was the same thing, the only reason I didnt have a bite in 10 seconds was if the previous fish took the minnow. Took home 12 bigger then the average this year for some dinner and freezer. Might get out again on Saturday.
