  1. Yes, I’m comfortable on 3-4 inches of ice, but I have a float suit on and picks, that’s the bare minimum for me. A lot of guys go out on 1-2 ish. That’s nuts to me. Was out today, man it was insanely windy had to hold down the hut whilst fishing. Caught a bunch of perch.
  2. Ya I know brechin is a long way from cooks, I didn’t say it was close. This is a Simcoe ice post lol. However being a weird weather year there is sketchy ice everywhere. Looks like I have about 3-4 inches in the bay I’m in around 7th line of Innisfil.
  3. There is a video going around that the ice is breaking up into large football sized chunks around brechin area up that way.
  4. Ya especially when most guys are spudding their way out like I will tomorrow or later during the week.
  5. Yep, smart people.
  6. Got my rink started today and did a flood, I have 3 inches of ice right near shore, I can see a few guys out off the point near the 7th line and a few farther north, can't be on too much ice... sketchy. Maybe another week for me.
  7. No way I’d go out on 2 lol, man people are risking a lot for a fish.
  8. My wife just buzzes my hair every couple months. Haven’t paid for a haircut in 13 years.
  9. Just identify as a dog yep super ridiculous. I can see my friends and family but 30k people can land from whatever country every week and hopefully they quarantine... crazy.
  10. This snow is not gonna help at all either, damn insulator. Would have made a fair bit of ice over the next couple days, getting cold. I think I'll still be starting my hockey rink down at the lake this weekend.
  11. This is insane... Does no one think any of these orders or whatever through before they spew them out? It's incredible that no one knows what the rules are and how to enforce any of them. Everyone is just making up their own rules as they go it seems and like half the fisherman think your allowed to fish and then the other half of fisherman think your not allowed to fish.
  12. That’s crazy!
  13. J's hut rental from Lefroy there made a video and it was posted on Facebook, that he has seen quite a few people walk out with no float suit or safety gear, it's still really sketchy around there. 1-2 inches in random spots. I won't go out on less then 3 ish. This year I think there's a lot of Newbies that are taking a risk because there isn't much else to do. Hopefully no more tragedies this season.
  14. Up by me just north of 7th line of Innisfil, we just froze over 2-3 days ago. I'm thinking by the weekend I can take a venture out with the spud bar.
  15. It’s finally frozen over near me around the 7th line of innisfil, maybe I’ll have to take a trip with the spud bar in a few days
  16. Funny, I was just thinking today that I hadn't seen you around that much lately. Nice fish!
  17. I know about 10 years ago we had a ton of ice on Simcoe, I would take the 98 Sierra to the hut, the hut that I built wayyy too big and heavy lol! I remember having to drill through almost 2 feet of ice. Gonna be a short season this year it seems Just started a rink in the backyard since I might not be able to do one on the lake for that long this year.
  18. Agreed, It seems like 85 percent of the comments on articles and on Twitter don't agree with much of what the government is doing, and are against this lockdown. I would be super pissed if I owned a small shop or restaurant and forced to close when I could easily space 10 people inside and follow protocols, yet every big box is open and has hundreds of people. It's also pathetic that they keep letting flight after fight come in to the country but I'm not supposed too see my close friends? It would be nice if the other side of the story the damage of locking everyone down was able to be out there and acknowledged.
  19. Well, Looks like it's finally getting cold this coming week, so maybe 2-3 weeks out for fishing near me. Hopefully
  20. Is that the proper term to describe your patients?
  21. Agreed, but the father in law put his little tinny down for the season lol
  22. Walked down to the end of my street up near the 7th line of Innisfil, no ice for as far as to be seen. Thought by now they were calling for this polar vortex of like -15 temperatures. The long term forecast isn't all the promising either. Gonna be another short season Too bad, with me being off a bit because of Covid would have been nice to be able to fish too pass the time.
  23. Agreed, scary... you cant dare have another viewpoint on this whole thing, in my opinion the lockdown effects are just as bad as covid or worse in the long term... A lot of all of this doesn't make any sense and your wrong it seems if you question it.
  24. Hard to go on Simcoe when its mostly water Figures a lot of us are home and we have no ice down the street to fish
