Lots of good advice here.I will add a couple of things .Enroll your pup in a basic obedience as early as they will allow.The class will train you as well as the dog.Crate training will make it much easier to have a balanced pup.the secret to haveing a well trained dog is to never let it fail.Always look for the next thing it is going to do and correct the instant it starts to do it.With a small pup they wiil have to go usually right after eating or drinking.Watch it closely and put it outside and praise it when it goes.If you are one step ahead of the dog the amount of drama and yelling drops.The better you learn your dogs mannerisms the easier training will be.I tied my pup to my waist with a 20ft lead for 3 weeks when I got her.I learnes a lot about her and she learned a lot about me.She is usually within 20 ft of me to this day.If you want to avoid the training all together just steal Spiels dog! Alot depends on the animal to be sure.My buds Rhodesion gets the runs if he looks at any food other than Vet med stuff.Both of my dogs and my brothers dogs follow the chickens around like they were doggy vending machines,scooping up c-poop like it was kibbles.I did the IAMS stuff and a few others but I use the TSC high protien stuff for now...untill I actually read get off my lazy butt and read up on this.I will say that Rick will not steer you wrong about dogs.He loves his dogs more than he hates conservatives.I will say I love my dogs more than I hate most liberals...cept for my wife. I was reminded from Gerrits post oday how many Canadians I met this year on vacation in Mexico.It would be cool if I had a printable business card with the web adress and logo to tell people where the community is.If you walk to the beach at a resort I know you will meet a Canadian who will talk to you about fishing.We may as well have a card to tell him where we are.Its easier than telling him to Google Ontario fisting. I'm not crazy about those resort courses but diving is very cool.I dove many years ago when I was stationed in Bermuda.Very cool stuff.Have fun G Joe

I stayed at the Iberostar lasy year.I took my rod and reel but didn't get anything from shore.I mostly stuck around the resort exept for a zip line trip and a few snokeling trips.They have "snrkeling" trips that go out on a party boat with rum drinks and beer afterward and a dance show.They are fun but a little pricey.Usually the resort has a dive shop that has a no frills trip is a fraction of the cost and goes to the same reef.I would also inquire at the dive shop about fishing oppertunities before booking a reef fishing trip.Art is leaving for Punta Cana tomorrow morning for a week.He may have some more info when he returns.Try to google earth your resort and area,you may see something from the sky. I have scalded pigs and brushed them to remove hair before but the pigs are dead before you scald them.Its hard work but makes for better cracklins!
