i use a 9 foot noodle rod with a straight 6lb mono line and a spinning reel. you can use bigger rod, you'll just have to play the fish more. salmon will hit in rivers, i have had some foul hooks i normally just snap my line the moment i realize this as fighting a snagged salmon is a fight i dont want but the majority are right in the yap. get your self set up with the equipment and you and i can meet up at old mill and fish together. i'll show you my brown/rainbow holes too. maybe if you enjoy it enough you can join in on our north of 89 trips.

we were out on rice on sunday, it wasnt done to me but i did see a couple sitting inbetween margerets island and the shore, and some moron went full throttle inbetween them . he nearly tipped their little tinny over. dan the owner of a resort nearby came out on to the dock and said a few things lol "its a 10km zone here youmoron, why you in such a hurry?" the guy just drove away like he was cool or somethin.. i've also had people troll between us and a shore while we were fishing it. i will follow them, wait for them to set up on a hole, and then return the favour.

im known to be adventurous, and a little nuts but shark fishing in a kayak on water thats 50 degrees? no Damn way in hell! lol those guys are nut jobs! great show tho.

depends on when the water temps drop. up there they are normally up before the ones in lake o.. i usually start fishing the pine later this month.

deffinatley a vest. be it from shore or walking in a river. i'll even wear it if im in a highly populated musky area cause i like to keep my release tools in it. i have tons of tackle, but just swap it out as i go.
