  1. Raf posted a good how-to link. I started stacking a drying my wood this August (standing dead and fresh) and I'm happy and releaved how dry it is. Burns great; in holz hausen I trust. I can thank a beaver for dropping several BIG white birch near one of the ponds. That stuff was essentially pre-seasoned in the field for me. I have a good mix of maple, oak, poplar, ash, yellow and white birch. I'm already collecting for next year.
  2. It was a very light dusting in the last photo. The others are just frost. You really got hit Nick.
  3. Plows? Ok, you guys must have got a lot more than us then. The phones at the tire shops are gonna ring off the hook today
  4. Those are some handsome muskies. Betcha that water was cold!
  5. Nice mooshead toque...had one, lost it. Great fishing, I've never had much success fishing bass in the fall
  6. Your new truck is gonna take you far in the bush! Nice shots. You have an enviable diet of fish.
  7. Good numbers and those ain't small fish either!
  8. Shayne, go on Kijiji and type in 'wild mushrooms', sometimes people offer mushroom walks for like 50 per person. I know a guy in north bay does anyway.
  9. I haven't seen any Hedgehog's (sweet tooth) around here yet. Infact, the mushrooms have been fairly dorment this past week. The only ones I'm seeing are the Golden Corals and a few Honey's. The Chantrelles are past their prime as well. Bernie, Those top ones look like a 'Bolete' type mushrooms, I'd say Goldstalk based on those two photos .... Boletes have an underside that looks like foam.
  10. Just did my brakes, first time at 120,000kms on my 4x4, I guess that means you will do yours at 240,000kms hahaha.
  11. I feel imasculated and childish doing this but.... BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  12. Ok, no more leaf talk. Mike Smith gets a goal for the 'Yotes! Obviously that isn't a good barometer for how talented a goalie is, but that guy has been a lifeline on that team for the last two years! Go 'Yotes, Go Jets.
  13. There's a crack in your windshield! Seriously love you'r commute, what'd I see, like three cars until you hit town?
  14. Yikes! What a day. Love seeing Sturgeon, and ya, they are pretty hardy fish from what I understand.
  15. I hear Opimika is a pretty nice place... its near Temiskaming and North Bay.
  16. The squirrels and the puff balls are much smaller in my area haha. Great shot!
  17. And i can finally puchase my 20 cases of Bleu Dry from Quebec and drive it back home, legally! Now that that major issue is resolved, we just need to fix the minor issue of anti-democratic government actions.
  18. There is an officer in Sudbury who has a bucket full of convicted and outstanding charges who has been on payroll since 2011 and not working!. ...I wonder if the bully in the video got paid for being a d### as well. Police budgets are approx. 95 percent payroll....brutal waste of money, or at least they should have to pay it back if convicted. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/sudbury/prosecutor-calls-sudbury-police-officer-deceitful-1.1703453
  19. Wasnt' there a 'This is That' episode where they had 'catch and release hunting' hahaha. Anyway...what a beauty animal, glad it's going to someone who harvests for sustenance and is local.
