  1. I'm almost up to 5, 1-pounders this year. That pretty much puts us in the same league. All kidding aside, that's a beauty, this might end up being a record year for you! keep it up.
  2. Holy smokes, nice mix of target species. That laker meat looks great! Those darn inlanders are tough to get I've noticed... I've tried several times and still nothing to show. Great report
  3. Hey team, The Lady and I are doing a week long camping tour between the Soo and Wawa and are looking for serviced camping lots in Lake Superior Provincial Park. We are tenting it, so RV services are not needed, just public showers/washrooms etc. I just want a basic and quiet park to enjoy my free time. I'll find my own fishing spots. I'll be doing lots of research, but any tips would be greatly appreciated. thx
  4. It's tough to get a consistent walleye bite unless you have a honey hole. I like to search for them by casting 1/4oz jigs/grubs and hoping them off bottom or using a worm harness and spinning it near bottom. If they are there and feeding, chances are with those baits you'll get a few taps... from there you can hone in on them either using faster or slower tactics. Good luck, I'm sure others will have great suggestions.
  5. Yup, it'll be ontario's version of the oil sands.
  6. I was there last summer and did fairly well right downtown... I'm sure i could have done better with more carp experience. Catch me if you can big-boy.
  7. Not sure about the dam, but Cliffs Natural Resources will be the lead mining company in the ROF, which to put it lightly, should scare the hell out of everyone. They are a very aggressive, shareholder driven, underhanded company... which was seen in the Spider Resources take-over. I'm no slacktivist, but Cliffs should be under the thumb of the caretakers of the land up there when it comes to mining the ROF.
  8. thanks for making my Subway look like crap!
  9. yikes hedge fund's at work again. They care about nothing but profit and no one is responsible in the end.
  10. I put this one away until I had time to absorb it properly.... I'm glad I did. Amazing trip and report. You are a one man fishing network.
  11. My dad was towing his brand new aluminum trailer along a rough road when he hit a monster bump. Next thing he was dragging the trailer lip on the asphalt as it swayed back and forth. He managed to slow down and pull over... Only to find that the nut holding the ball was loose and slipped off! This is what happens when u set up quickly and don't double check things. Luckily, no damage at all.
  12. https://www.thefishinhole.com/index.cfm?imageSku=3853940&enlargeSkuz=20651&GETSPECIALSPRODUCTS= This looks like a good knife at a great discount. I'm thinking of getting one myself.
  13. No takers? Oh well looks like rocks as ballast will be my fishin partner. Love these work hours!
  14. Best of luck Wayne and family. She is clearly loved beyond words by those closest to her.
  15. Nice shots. The CBC had a funny comment this morning on the current. "After the hockey, to give them a real sense of the game, Vancouver fans came in and destroyed the place." Haha
  16. It's only a few hundred Kms as the crow flies..... I'll be taking my last trip to St Joe next week, I'll let you know what day.
  17. Hey there Hombres, I'm on a job site north of Latchford and I should be done early, around 1:30-2. If you want to meet up to fish for SMB and pike on some easy access lakes shoot me a PM. Gotta love using a phone as a modem. I'm looking at trying either James or Granite Lk.
  18. Good arm workout!
  19. Vacations are too short. Great time on the water! Nice fish
  20. 4:00pm text to Joey: Wanna go fishing? 4:05pm text to me: Yes 4:30pm pickup 4:55pm launch We decided to decipher another tiny lake with our best pal sportspal and try out for some largemouth bass. It was a windy night so we headed for a sheltered area with plenty of emergent vegetation and began casting top water. With no signs of top water hits, or surfacing fish we slowed things down and I hooked into a decent Largie using a slammer on dropshot. The iceth, was brokeneth....but the action slowed down for bass. Twenty minutes later Joey, with his trusty wacky worm, casted right on bullseye and got a nice hit. At first it was a good bass. Then it was a huge pike. Then it was a huge walleye. 23.5". We were both in complete shock as we were unaware that there were any walleye in the lake at all. Elated, we carried on and felt a few decent hits and only one more fish landed. Had we stayed until dusk, the action would have picked up but he had work duties and I was ready to pack it in.... having no seats in the canoe is a real pain in the , quite literally. Gotta love small lakes!!!
  21. That's wild, especially mixed in with a sunset. now go find a photocontest online.
  22. They must have a huge potato garden up there! Great report and photos... those walleye look like aliens from the front.
  23. Nice log! Can't believe two huge ones in 15 mins!!
  24. I just got one of those underwater thermometers, I'll keep an eye out for that 70 degree threshold next time. Sleeping in the truck is brutal eh? I've had the worst sleeps of my life in truck cabs. At least you had a very productive weekend...I bet time just flew by and next thing you knew it was sunday night. Hopefully that little Kia can keep bringing you to some good spots in the future. Oh, and the lure selection for the brookies... can't go wrong with a gool 'ol worm n' stinker.
