  1. Oh, and she was different from the ones caught on camera, the 'twins' are still alive as of yesterday. We are now on the hunt for bucks. ***look up Chris ^
  2. I played the wind and switched stands to the other side of my property on the second evening. I had never set up a camera here, but the stand faces a tree-heavy steep ridge with apples on top, and tracks were common in the area. Sunset was at 5pm and I used my Grandpas 303 which he had just gifted me. At 520 pm she's within earshot coming up behind me. At 525 I saw her on my far right, light was disappearing fast. I inched the riffle towards her until I could finally get a shot and took it, awkwardly, at 529. 5 seconds later she was down and dead... Perfect heart shot with no meat damage!! Another minute and I was past the legal shooting time. We removed every square inch of meat off her... Even the meat between the ribs and up the neck. 20lbs of meat is for grinding and the remainder was steaked or made into roasts. We are a happy family!
  3. Big doe. Tagged and almost done butchering myself. Hell yea!!!
  4. stop talking. Nice fish.
  5. wow, what a shore spot!
  6. endless rain is not a joke. My trails are slop after an otherwise dry year. Those are beauts for sure! Big for your 'average' lake trout that's for certain.
  7. Thanks all! I spend so much time in the bush here; it's funny how the forest sometimes seems empty of animals, but clearly it's teaming with wildlife. Here are some recent shots. 10 pointer!
  8. I regularly see 12 in a day. Good numbers here too. Love the look of that gun
  9. yeah! Next step maybe will help tourism in N.Ont and allow non-residents to hunt spring bear. I didn't hunt as much as I wanted to, but I really enjoyed the Spring and Fall bear hunt!
  10. 7lbs!?? Christ!
  11. i dont really want to see pot taxed and sold in stores, there would be too much administration and bureaucratic effort, it would also put it under government control like everything else we complain about. Just make it legal (or decriminalize) to grow it at home. That would give it back to the people and gangs would have much less power/money.
  12. nice average size there. You make a good guide
  13. next time you have three generations together, I'd like to see a group pic of Jack with a 30", you with a 15" and Grandad with a baby walleye. Good stuff Simon
  14. Nice close-up of the fisher (at least it looks like one to me). what were you fishing out of? your knees are well above the gunnels there.
  15. I bet there were walleye and pike coming out of your ears by the end of this season! Great montage
  16. All in black you say? She's a witch, hit her!
  17. Thanks Brian. As long as the weather cooperates this year we should have better results
  18. Live in a zoo hahahah. Yeah, the variety is awesome here! I believe those are Pine Martens. Someone here might be able to confirm that?
  19. Deer (riffle) season is almost here! This is what I'm seeing on my camera. The bucks seem to be moving now that it's colder and the rut is on it's way.
  20. Great Lynx shot BlueLK! I really hope I see one this winter!
  21. damn, that's a decent stringer. Did you see any other hunters out there? That might be a good spot for future moose/deer hunting, eh?
  22. Did they end up amputating Chris' finger? Great stuff Mike. A great read for a slow day at work
