haha. That fish is only there because all the natural fish from that lake are long gone. Just in case you forgot, this is what a real pike looks like...from the Temagami area.

We were boating in a shallow area between two lakes at just before dusk last week, when little fish started jumping all around us. I put on a mister twister and hit rock bass after rock bass after rock bass It was more fun than catching no lake trout after two hours haha.

I'd take the fish in Wayne screen shot before that dinky pike in yours any day

Maybe next year I'll actually catch my limit

I thought you already did that? On a serious note, isn't it a good move that the government cut funding to the experimental lakes, since this is EXACTLY the type of research they tend to do there? If the current feds had their way, nutrient loading in lakes would not be considered pollution, but a good opportunity to create a couple jobs in the hazardous materials sector.

I have a few "great" days on Nip, but other than that, I know of about 5 nearby lakes that are far better for walleye fishing. Nipissing is a great ice fishing lake in my opinion, but that is because I catch all the perch I could ever want....the walleye fishing is not as consistent. I must have missed out on the hay-days at nipissing because I can't remember the fishing ever being fantastic... maybe that's why I don't see a huge problem in the fishery and the commercial netting. I do have a problem with the poachers and the greedy people who take too many fish, even though it is within their rights...but that applies to every lake.

Absolutely I will!! I'd love to fish out of a real boat someday haha. Thanks for all the replies guys. I texted my fishing partner and it looks like we are fishing for pike tomorrow.... maybe lakers next time.
