  1. :D
  2. oh yah! I forgot about that time. I swear it's no more than once per year
  3. Funny you say that. During our lunch break we looked at the lake and said "we need a plane". At least when I lock my keys in the truck I can just use part of a fish stringer and break in.
  4. I had no luck a couple weeks ago (same trip as Joey) but it was the first time I fished the whole lake. I'll be back, as it's a very nice lake with great scenery, low traffic and good fishing structure. I'm sure someone with more experience could easily catch some nice walleye, pike and bass. It is close to the hwy, so you'll be reminded that your not far off the path.
  5. Those pinks look so odd, yet very interesting.
  6. hahaha. I was thinking "There's no way it's THAT bad in there. ", or the alternative is " I was not thinking at all" I only ate half my sandwich at lunch, JUST INCASE.
  7. A winch is exactly what I need. I'll probably get one that installs in my hitch recepticle. Also, some "grip tracks" would have helped tremendously. Also, need two new shovels and they both broke on us. The mazda does not have a locking diff. I might look into adding that as a mod. The biggest pisser is the traction control in 4x4. Why the heck would anyone want to lose power to a wheel in 4x4?? Rick, we did not launch the canoe, as it was nearly 2pm by the time we were freed up, and I was completely bushed. It was much easier to just drive trails and look for birds.
  8. stacked up indeed. One big fish after the other!
  9. Well today's plans were completely altered. What was supposed to be a rainbow trout-fest quickly turned into a mud slinging, shovel breaking, rock hauling, boot pulling, tire spinning, off-road recovery calling mishap....with a happy ending. A friend and I drove my truck into what is normally a 4-wheeler trail leading to a small rainbow lake. I bought new meaty tires a couple weeks ago, so my off-road confidence was running high...too high. As we approached the final 50 feet, in an area which would have been a perfect place to unload gear, I decide (foolishly) to continue towards to lake; I mean who the hell wants to walk 50 feet, right? I drove right into muskeg and was screwed the moment I chose to turn around instead of backing out. 4 hours of trying every single option we could think of and I broke down and called the local off-road recovery, Bartlett's Towing. The driver executed the recovery with ease and did not damage my truck. Now I know how far off road my truck can go We decided to follow a couple trails and my friend took out 5 partridge, so the day ended on a high note I'm going to sleep well tonight.
  10. I missed out on that trip. Nice going man! Enjoy your meals

  12. What a beast. Did you know there were walleye that size in there?
  13. No prob. If you find any good deals online, let me know (i'll do the same), we may be able to split on shipping. There are not too many choices in town here.
  14. Luc, take a look a this thread I started last year http://ontariofishin...=1entry669811 Most of the pop-up/sleigh type shelters online either come in 1 or 3 man design. The 3 man's are typically near or over 100lbs, while any available 2 man's are around 90-95. 100lbs is way too much for me to haul around, plus additional gear on back lakes. These type of shelters are mostly for guys with sleds or four-wheelers I'd say....unless someone here can vouch otherwise. I'll probably just look into a tent-style unit and purchase a separate hand-sleigh to pull all my gear. They are much cheaper too (around 150-300) and some of the online distributers have really good sale pricing. Here are some other links. http://www.lebaron.c...am_shelters.pdf At 18lbs the eskimo looks like a nice unit http://www.lebaron.c...ll12/eskimo.pdf Here are a couple Pelican sleds. I have a similar one from CT. http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_fall12/bluefox_pelican.pdf
  15. Hard times. My condolences.
  16. I have no idea but it sounds extremely suspicious haha
  17. If we buy two at the same time maybe we'll get a discount? I'm looking for the exact same thing. I found wholesalesports had some good deals but shipping and returning faulty products was a concern. Hopefuly you get some good advice here, as I'll be watching closely.
  18. envy for the guy without any steelhead rivers nearby.
  19. some excellent bass hauling right there! Thanks for taking the time.
  20. Always a pleasure to browse through your reports. Another successful outing!
  21. awsome looking bait. Can I have 5% of your fall action? Nothing's been working for me this year. What are your techniques and structure when fishing for whitefish?
  22. sweet looking musky, very dark.
  23. Nice work gents
  24. a bit a vinegar diluted into water would probably work well. It won't be harsh.
  25. Excellent catches! What do you mean by "...the MNR Report"? Some kind of monitoring program in that area?
