  1. Nice can't wait for those vids and reports. Lucky little fellow drivin already.
  2. Haha thanks Mike right back at cha! Newf I'd be lying to you if I told you. I'm not to sure to tell you the truth. I noticed maybe 4 or 5 like the one pictured.
  3. Jeeez nice talent, those look good Spiel. Pardon my ignorance, but do you sell these? I'm thinking of getting into some fly fishing this spring or summer, but the rod I got is a mighty old hand me down. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but thought I'd ask. I'm with Misfish, I like that black line in the grain on the top one. Nicely done once again.
  4. Nice stuff man congrats on the third place. Never fished Pidgeon ever, but that looks like a good tourney. Is it reasonable to walk out or is a snow machine required?
  5. Nice report. Sounds like an interesting day. Good on ya for landing some nice sized perch. Wada you figure was the depth you found them at? I ask cause I can relate to the minnow sized ones..thats all I had the other day.
  6. A buddy and me made it out on Cooks Bay this past week for some Prechin. We were hoping to get a few for the dinner table, but caught only small ones all day about 40 between the two of us(5"-6"). We used Lucky and Sons huts and stayed out over night in on of the bungalows. Next morning got up and started off on bottom again, but same as the day before...only dinks. Oh well thats the way she goes I guess. I wanted to set a tipup outside the hut, but with the temps on Thursday the hole would have froze over quickly so I opted to just set it up in the hut at about a depth of 25' or so (guesstimating) but nothing hit that in the two days we were out there. Tryed different setups and depths as well, but nada. With the rod I was 12" off bottom slammin alot of dinks, but noting even photo worthy. Overall I estimate we were fishing in about 40-50' of water. Had a blast, and had great service from Lucky and Sons. I'd use them again. Some pics, but no fish. My buddy enjoying it.
  7. Thanks guys. Took all summer to catch that one.
  8. Wow I only hope Im just a lucky, nice haul.
  9. Ive recently have moved off the big hard baits and now chuck soft plastics all day long. I'm able to catch multiple species with the mr.twisters (black with black head, black body with silver tail and black jig head, chartruse with chartruse head, worm brown with a black jig head) and have also gotten into 6" soft worms of all kinds of different varity. I've got me a pretty big collection as I'm sure most of the members do around here, but in the last 2 years I cant get away from the mr.twisers and soft worms. But if its something else your looking for Spinner Baits work great for pike and bass. I've had good luck with white skirts and also golden with black skirts. Rapala has some pretty good hard baits know as "X-raps" Ive had reall good luck with all sizes of those mainly in perch pattern and blue with white belly. Who knows though..in a another year I may go totally different and start using crank baits. For me its what produces most and for now its the softies. Good luck and post up with what you decide. Oh and good luck with the no smoking. Me next...I hope.
  10. Man those are some sweet Lakers. Still on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing. p.s. enjoyed the "tank" perch report as well. Some nice JUMBOS.
  11. Just for you T.J. lol (Wellers Bay) Thanks Mercman and FinesseFan. Left the scale at home so no weight or lenght But I can tell you that is now my PB. Actually about a miniut earlier I caught his smaller brother which was a hair smaller than the pictured one. On the PortaBote its not bad I guess, actually bought it used off a member on this board in 2008 (Thanks Nel if read this and are still a member). I wouldnt take it out on Simcoe or big bodies like that, but for my little back lake spots its great I find. I use to have a trolling motor, but decided to buy a used Nissan 5hp with the tank built into the top of the motor. Its weird cause id say most times it seems like the nose of the boat wants to dive at full throttle, and then sometimes it dosent, but havent figured it out yet..Any ideas? Ive played with the angle and I swear I had it fixed. Another time out it did it again and just left well alone. Its not exactly a speed boat I just enjoy the slower pace. But yeah back to the boat Its comfotable for two for sure and thats all I've had on it, and has decent room for a small cooler, extra rods, tackle bags so on and so on. Setup isnt to bad. It helps to have two people, but it can be done with one. I cant think of any thing else to say about it, but if youve got any other questions feel free to ask.
  12. Nice report Chris.B I enjoyed reding it and looking at the pics. Love the fire in the old tree idea, smart.
  13. Was just goin thru some older phots and thought I'd post up some pics. Everyone like pictures right? lol. Anyways here goes. Its only a small bunch mostly of my little lakex and Wellers Bay. In the summer I fish Stoney, Buckhorn, LoveSick (havent had much luck), BuckHorn, Jack and a few others quite a bit from a friends boat. I like that group of lakes up there Hope you guys and gals enjoy. p.s if anyone reconizes the non Wellers Bay pics could you please keep the whereabouts to youselfs. 2 pics of Piggy I caught last summer: Average Largie: another: The lightning rod..ok maybe not. 5hp Nissan 2 stroke bolted to a portabote. Dose the job though on smaller lakes: Another of my BEAST: Some Walleye on Wellers Bay with dads boat:
  14. Thanks Bill for the heads up.
  15. Welcome good people around here willing to help out I find.
  16. A few of us stayed out late a few weeks ago trying to taget perch and the bite fell off rails. This was out on Simcoe in about 20-25fow, but not sure if they just shut down completley or move to deeper/shallower gronds or what. This was outta Port Bolster area to by the way. Thursday night I'll be out all night at Cooks Bay trying for some more perch. I dont have a ton of ice fishing at night experience, but it hasent been good to me on my two trips out this season so far. I did however land a quality walleye on Nipissing at about 3 in the morning once...pig to.
  17. Hey Bill I shoulda worded that a little better lol. I meant it to read different, but its okay. Thanks Drifter thats more of what I ment. I know sometimes its hard to word posts:) I'll shoot them an email shortley.
  18. Just checked out "wepoundthem". It says 5 hours, morning or evening. Is that what you'll typically find with these salmon charter guys? Looks like a fun time though.
  19. Not a Habs fan by a long shot, (Leafs baby) but there doin it some how this year. I think sometime yesterday they were 2nd in the East....far cry from last years finish.

  22. Ive got a question hopefully some of you can awnswer. When I upload a pic from a iphone is there a way someone can see where that pic was taken from? When I go into "places" (in the album app) and touch the red dot thats on the map are those pictures for that particular red dot able to be dug out from the interwebs and pinpointed upon? I cant explain it any better so I hope someone knows what Im talking about. Any help? For example I'll post this pic from my fathers trailer from this past summer. Is there a way to know where this was taken from some kinda gps or phone software? Heres an example. Can this pic somehow be located because i took it with an iphone?
