  1. I saw this, thinking it was a bear as well. My wife was more than happy to point out the error of my ways.
  2. Well, in choppy weather, we use the bailing bucket. Always works in a pinch, forgive the term.
  3. Wow, I pass creeks like that all the time, and would never have guessed there would be fishies like that in them. Nice work!
  4. Hey guys, we've got 3 of us waiting for assignment to teams for the OFC tourney. We need 7 more folks to sign up. C'mon, it don't cost nothing. It's friendly competition. And you may just find yourself discovering more excuses to go ... Jay
  5. Hmm, pike season.... I think I may have to target the wolves this weekend.
  6. Any walleye I have ever caught was on spinners, like Mepps, tipped with a small piece of worm on the treble, trolling.... It's the way I was taught, and worked well for me.
  7. I had never seen, no heard of a priest until I spent a couple of summer vacations in Scotland. Everyone carries them there, and some are quite elaborate, and even lead filled. Here, if we're keeping them to eat, it's on the stringer until we get back to the camp, then a swift beheading, (I make custom knives, and this is always a good test). It's always interesting to see how long the pike head will keep snapping after it's removed from the body.
  8. I'm in the Hammer, but new to Perch/Crappie. Sounds like a good idea to me though...
  9. Not a follower of the big fish records, but that is the biggest Walleye I've ever seen. Nice work!
  10. Cute pics Vince. I miss the days when my daughters still thought fishing was fun..
  11. Well, there's gotta be a starting point for twofootitis.... I've got no boat, and I'm pretty sure 2 feet wouldn't cut it..... I think 12 is a good starting number, I'll go with that...
  12. Seems that most had an iffy weekend. I'm going to blame it on the weather. Umm, suspended pickerel? Man, I've lived here my whole life, and I never knew they were in there... I gotta get away from these computers more often!
  13. Had one episode on a fly in lake years ago, but that is a story in itself... He could hear the plane comming for 10 minutes...
  14. I know what logic dictates... But that usually has little to do with the Ministry Regs....
  15. It's been said that angling is a Gentlemans passtime.. You're proving that. Cheers!
  16. Welcome to the board! I'm relatively new myself, and have found it a quite enjoyable 'diversion' while I'm stuck at work thinking about going fishing....
  17. For an 18 hour drive from Hamilton, I doubt it'll be every weekend, but that would be nice... LOL Thanks!
  18. My 17 year old daughter just got accepted to the Ontario Ranger's Program. This will be her first step to her eventual goal of a placement with the MNR, or a similar organization. Anyway, she's off to Sleeping Giant, just east of Thunder Bay, for an 8 week stint. This looks like a grand opportunity for Dad to be the hero and drive her up to her Summer job... Oh, yeah, I hear that there's fishing up that way too... Hints are always welcome as to a good place to wet a line, if you know the area...
  19. You been playing with Photoshop? Those are the best colours I've seen on a perch in a long time!
  20. I'm just down on 20 Rd, and I'd love to help, but I only do airbrushing and touch-up gun stuff. I've got a twin tank setup too, and have used it to shoot clear, but nothing boat sized. HVLP guns help.
  21. Nice pics there Vinnie! Gee, I'm not too upset I had to work and missed this.... much.... I guess.....
  22. Went up to the Grand between Caledonia and Cayuga last night, not a single bite until the sun set, then the cats were hitting worms like they owed them money... Wonder what the wife has planned for tonight that I can get out of......
  23. Well, CT does artificially inflate prices for sales, but if I recall there's a good deal on a Berkley spinning combo this week.... $40 or so... Sorry, I just checked and it's various pieces at 50%, not a combo...
  24. Good luck, and I hope you don't find any leaks. This thread reminds me of the time we got to the lake to find we'd lost the drain plug in the boat. We trolled so fast that day... LOL. Fingers crossed for you buddy.
