  1. Try soapy water, fill the waders with air and cover the outside of the waders with the soapy water. When you squeeze the waders to increase the pressure any holes will form bubbles. Mark em with chalk, let the waders dry and seal them up and go fish
  2. Sail has them for a little cheaper than lebarons, something like 1.89 vs 1.45, they are my fav because they are cheap, and you don't need pliers to squeeze them on, I think those raven splitshot would bury into my finger before it would close enough to be secure
  3. I'm using one of the new clarus center pin rods and I'm pretty happy with it. As you may know shimano has updated most of the rods it makes, the convergence is made with im7 now ( used to be im6) and the clarus series went from im7 to im8.
  4. I got myself a x67c ice machine, and from the sound of it, i made a good choice lol. Anyone know where I might be able to find a micro fin bore? I have a 8" normal fin bore that I just got, but that micro one looks like it would be a lot easier to walk out with.
  5. If your local cdn tire has the fin bore auger, do a price match with lebarons price, there shouldn't be an issue since lebarons are located on Ontario. Also I think the little buddy heater was on sale at bass pro for about 100$, they had a pallet of them 2 weeks ago, dunno if they are still on sale though.
  6. These seem to be sold out almost everywhere, etackle, and mark ham lebaron both sold out within the fist few days they had them
  7. If ordering from boca, look for the ceramic hybrids that are not greased or oiled, I ordered a 10 pack of rc bearings in the right size, but they need to be warn in to spin properly. I guess i could degrease them, and use a sewing machine oil, but I want to see how these are stock, so I'll give them a few outings to break in. (they spin fine when drifting a piker for salmon, but a small drennan needs a bump to get started. Btw I got the orange rubber sealed ceramic hybrids) Size should be .125 width .250 ID .375 od If I remember correctly
  8. I have 3 specialists that I got from crappy tire, I think they were 40$ with the reel on sale. For the price, these feel great, and I don't mind lending them out to newbies
  9. i bought the innova 3100 myself from crappy tire for 100$ on sale, it's great to read engine codes and what not, and got my golf running like it should after a sensor change, and a throttle body cleaning. having it handy is great compared to going to a shop and having to pay them to read the codes once (since it would have been around the same, plus teh km's to get to said shop). if you want to get more advanced and be able to tune the car via the computer, you can get a program such as the ross tech system, it is a program you install on a laptop, and it comes with a cable to attach the computer to your car.
  10. That sucks, I'm busy all weekend and was hoping to help out next week. I did have a good time yesterday and will be out the next time the CRAA needs people. Rich
  11. as far as pins go, get somthing you will keep for a while, i got a used islander myself, and it's been great. if i started with the okuma aventa, i'm sure i would have been itching to spend more cash to upgrade pretty soon after. the sheffield is pretty nice if you can find a good one used to
  12. more folks should definately check out the streetsville fish lift, next time i'm definately bringing my rod and heading south to erindale afterwards

  13. hey skeeter, it was nice meeting you today, those big suckers sure filled the day nicely, considering i lost the one steelie i hooked into all day. the way the suckers were smashing my maribou jig makes me think i need to replace my busted fly tying vice so i can whip up some more. heck, maybe i'll bring an ultralight rod and target those bronze back bottom dwellers lol. good luck with the dunville kitties bud, and done forget the report
  14. Someone forgot to inform the gas companies ts was just a joke, price at the pump went up around 5c overnight
  15. thats how the ganny was last weekend, i spent about an hour breaking up a drift close to shore, then when i sat down for a bit to catch my breath, some random guy starts fishing it
  16. Sounds like the problem lies in the fact that the bear was not afraid of the hikers. I've seen evidence of bears along the duffins watershed last season but I try to walk with my fishing bag that has hemostats and clippers attached to the side. I've heard that will usually alert the bear that somthing is approaching and scare the bear away. I might consider a can of bear mace though, just incase
  17. watching the news cast of the tsunami is tough. seeing the cars driving down the road and getting completely blind sided by the wall of debris and water was hard to see. very scary stuff. it seems like the frequency of large earthquakes is increasing world wide too.
  18. It says bronte is open year round from hwy 2 to lake O
  19. bps= bass pro shop. store is located along the 400 by bass pro mills (vaughn mills mall)
  20. i only saw one more 8" fin on the shelf no other sizes, there were a few swed bores though. oh, and i picked it up at the eglington and caledonia location
  21. Thanks mercman I'm not a big cdn tire fan myself but if you have a printout of the add from peters tackle, and do a pricematch today, you will get one hell of a deal. I mean in total, I saved close to 50$ off the total cdn tire price. I was just trying to give people a heads up on what I think was a decent price. Besides most posters complain about the prices at CT but with the fact that they are willing to meet, then beat the competitors price makes me think that not a lot of folks actually take advantage of it here.
  22. Good price, is that for the 8"? I'm not to concerned though, as I said I paid 108 and got 20 back even though it is in cdn tire credit (88 total tax included). And does the 85 include tax?
  23. CT is having a promo today (saturday march 5) where you will receive a 10$ gift card if you spend 40$ or more. With this in mind I took a trip to my local cdn tire to get myself a new fin bore 3 auger. I went with a printout of lebarons catalogue since the price is much lower and received the following discounts Cdn tire regular price 120$ Lebaron price 94.94$ Cdn tire 10% price match money back 9.50$ Cdn tire promo card 10$ Total came to 108$ ish with about 20$ worth of cdn tire play money back All in all it seemed like a decent deal, but just as a heads up the promo card expires in a week, so don't sit on it for to long. Get on this promo quickly because it is a one day only thing, its also good if you want one of those ctek chargers everyone raves about.
  24. South of the tracks is open all season. There is a extended season between hwy 2 and the cnr that closes at the end of the year in that zone. I spent most of last years winter on the wilmot, since it was so mild it didn't really freeze up
  25. Double bag the pouch, I had a bag of gulp leak in my vest last spring, that's some stinky stuff when it marinates into your clothes
