  1. I bought one of those yellow fibreglass telescopic extensions, I hope it holds up, as it was the strongest looking one Home Depot had. Landry, I saw that, I wish you weren't so far from Toronto since that net would probably be perfect
  2. I like the idea of a heavy duty extension handle, just gotta find one. Off to hd I go lol
  3. I really like the 2" Berkley glow ripplin shad for night fishing, they look almost alien when charged with a uv flashlight.
  4. Well I pulled a dumb move yesterday and forgot my net was leaning on the side of my car yesterday at port darlington (bowmanville creek). Had a feeling I was missing something, and pulled over in Pickering to check and what do you know, I forgot my net, and by the time I got back to bowmanville it was gone. ( life lessons suck) Considering it's probably gone for good, I'm wondering what you guys use, and where you pier guys get your nets, mine was a bass pro telescopic handle dealie, but I found the basket was too small for salmon so I'm looking to upgrade. Specs need to be -relatively light -portable (telescopic handle is a must) -large basket -prefer tangle free rubberized mesh Any input would be awesome
  5. I heard it was about 50' off shore, between the access point, and the channel. Right around where the motocross guys normally rip around. Ive been out there a few times this year, always sticking to the west side, the ice appearred solid from what i saw
  6. Last one i kept was full of small 1"-2" goby's ( they might have been sculpin, they were tough to identify as they were a little digested). This was 2 weeks ago on kbay
  7. Looks almost identical to this very old finbore i have, if it is marked the same way it was molded i to the grips. The replaceable blades are different though. On mine its a solid cutting head
  8. It is probably gonna be pretty slushy out there. Its fishable, but be preparred to wear tall rubber boots, the walk wont be fun
  9. Don't know about extreme heating and cooling, but uv rays from the sun can do a lot of damage to the rod blank, if you were to keep it in a rod case in the trunk, I don't see much damage being done
  10. I see, so its humane to let an animal roll around on the ground suffering for however long it would take the cops to get there, but it's not ok to end it's pain moments after it receives a more than likely fatal impact from a car with a tool at hand. I don't know about you guys, but every time I've had to call the police, the response time isn't that great unless a person is in bodily harm.
  11. Just imagine the news story if the officer arrived and shot it, the news story would read something like this "trigger happy police officer kills bear cub". Most of these folks will stop their car, and gawk as the animal suffers, but will cry bloody murder if someone decides to end it's suffering.
  12. I remember a video where guys were fishing on a floating vegetation mat, they had to dig through it and basically ice fish. It could be similar to that
  13. As nice as Simms waders appear in stores, i can't personally justify the price. I just got myself a pair of LL bean Kennebec waders, they were about 230$ shipped (on sale at the time) and they feel great, and with anything LL bean, they are coverred for life. pretty much every pair of waders is going to leak at some point in their use, so being able to find and fix leaks is a great skill to have.
  14. He did this As a promo for some kind of zombie movie he was participating in. after it went viral, he did a follow up video, basically detailing how it was done with the makeup, video editing, etc. It got me the first time I saw it though
  15. This video is fake, but it's still a strong reminder to know your backstop.
  16. The clarus line has a lifetime warranty, I don't know if most stores do over the counter exchanges any more, but if you send it in, they should replace it
  17. If the magnet is strong enough, you might ever be able to grab the hook with a strong magnet
  18. I'm considering tapeing a rare earth magnet to the bottom of my ice rods, and carrying a small industrial magnet on a rope, just incase
  19. I shared the Facebook page, so I might as well throw my hat in here too!
  20. If anyone actually finda a place that has a finbore micro I would love to get another one, word is they are discontinued by normark.
  21. They aren't very hard to make. when it comes to deboneing everything, you only really need to be careful with the turkeys skin in order to keep it looking right. I made 2 for separate christmas party's and the best advice I can give if you go the diy route is to have lots of counter space. Also have everything ready to go, ie string and a needle to tie the mass up, the stuffing, and the pan readyto put the beast in. Looking for instructions on youtube or google will make it very straight forward
  22. I could use one of these if moe above me doesn't take both of them
  23. The pics alone help out greatly, and I'm pretty sure we have almost identical boats, mine is a seafarer sf14
  24. Looks great, I'm planning on building something identical pretty much for my Starcraft. I'm not sure if the 36" trolling motor shaft will be enough though
  25. I have a 9'6" shimano clarus that sounds like what you want. Mine is a med 8-12lb. Its not quite as light action as you would want for small stream fishing with lighter leads, but it definately has the backbone to handle a lake run chinny from the pier.
